CBP busts convicted sex offender attempting to sneak into US

EL PASO, Tx. - Customs and Border Protection agents arrest a convicted child sex offender after trying to cross the border into the US.
CBP Officials tell ABC-7 that 57-year old Ejinardo Barajas-Tinoco was caught on Thursday night by agents using night vision equipment. Officials say Barajas was trying to cross the Rio Grande 6 miles east of the Ysleta Port of Entry.
After detaining him, officials then discovered he had been deported once before after serving 7 years in a Pennsylvania prison after being convicted of 3 sex crimes.
CBP officials say Barajas is in Border Patrol custody. He will be criminally prosecuted and then sent back to Mexico.

A convicted felon attempting to illegally enter the U.S. was caught Thursday night by Border Patrol agents east of the Ysleta Port of Entry.
Border Patrol agents apprehended Mexican national, Ejinardo Barajas-Tinoco, 57, an aggravated felon with three felony convictions for serious sex crimes, when he crossed the Rio Grande six miles east of the Ysleta Port of Entry.
The subject was transported to the El Paso Processing Center where his criminal past was discovered.
Agents confirmed that Barajas is a previously deported Aggravated Felon with three felony convictions for serious sex crimes in the state of Pennsylvania.
Records show that Barajas served seven years in prison for rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and conspiracy.
Barajas is being held in Border Patrol custody and will be criminally prosecuted and processed for formal removal.
