CBP Officers in Champlain, N.Y. Arrest Fugitive Wanted for Crimes of Violence

Champlain, N.Y. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations announced the arrest of a lawful permanent resident of the United States, wanted in the State of Georgia for multiple violent crime charges.

On April 17, CBP officers working at the Champlain, N.Y. border crossing encountered 37-year-old Trong Duc Vo, a Vietnamese citizen from Silver Spring, Md. Vo was wanted in Gwinnett County, Ga. on multiple violent crime charges including armed robbery with a handgun, pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another person and possession of a firearm. Vo was found in Canada and deported back to the United States by Canadian authorities.

Upon his arrival at the Port of Champlain, CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition to Georgia. Vo was arrested by CBP and turned over to the custody of the New York State Troopers pending extradition.
