LAREDO - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Laredo stopped a large drug smuggling attempt Friday. The bust netted more than $2 million worth of methamphetamines, officials said.

Sixty-five pounds of the meth were found inside a Ford truck at the Lincoln-Juarez International Bridge in Laredo. CBP officers processing travelers referred the truck and driver to a secondary inspection.

The driver, a 21-year-old U.S. citizen from Riverside, Calif., was arrested when officers found the load of meth valued at an estimated $2,080,000.
