Illegal immigrants barred from Fla. program

Illegal immigrants barred from Fla. program

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- An appellate court has barred illegal immigrants from a state rehabilitation program for people who have suffered brain or spinal cord injuries.

The 1st District Court of Appeal on Monday reversed an administrative law judge's ruling that had been appealed by the state.

The decision came in the case of Miguel Mora Rodriguez, a Mexican citizen now living in Hardee County. He was injured when the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a drunken driver.

His lawyer, JoNel Newman, says the appellate ruling was narrowly drawn to cover only the brain and spinal cord program. She says her client received a small settlement and is ambulatory but could benefit from rehabilitation.

Let him get his rehab in Mexico and NOT at our expense.

What astounds me is that in cases like these the Mexican Consulates are of no help to their beloved compadres. This is when they need to step up and help these families repatriate and secure adecuate medical care and assistance in Mexico. The famlies should be at the door step of the Mexican consulates DEMANDING assistance.

Oh yea...and we as a nation could 'benefit' by having this illegal invader deported! That "program" seems more appropriate for your client given the fact he's an illegal invader!

What...no ambulances carrying American citizens to chase today counselor?

Good for the judge! That illegal alien can go back to his home country and get treatment there. Americans are sick and tired of illegal aliens sponging off of us.

Meanwhile an Iraq war veteran is in danger of losing his home because of traumatic brain injury forcing his wife to leave her job to take care of he and his family. Thousands of veterans are forced to sell their possessions to put food on their table because they can't receive the necessary care, treatment and disability payments. I developed disabilities after return from front line combat but have to pay for my health care from my meager military retirement. But an illegal alien with a brain injury in a Chicago hospital received treatment at a cost of 250,000 dollars to taxpayers under medicaid (a program already on the verge of insolvency forcing benefits cuts to senior citizens and indigent Americans). Illegal aliens receive transplants through the UCLA medical campus paid for by taxpayers while a 9-11 rescuer developed kidney disease due to search and rescue efforts and was denied a kidney transplant because he amassed 250,000 dollars in medical bills and couldn't afford the procedure.
How those horse's asses masquerading as politicians allow this to happen to our brave veterans and public servants is disgusting, reprehensible and unconscionable. An apology from these (I am too angry to mention what cones to mind) would require a conscience which unfortunately none of these schmucks have as their heads are too far up their corporate, Mexican government, drug cartel and chamber of commerce master's asses......
There is no freedom without the law. Remember our veterans whose sacrifices allow us to live in freedom.

I have always (and so do most Americans, I believe) held our veterans in extremely high regard and the things you write sometimes disturb me. It's a shame more Americans can't know your stories. I'm really sorry our veterans are being treated this way even without the sickening knowledge that illegal aliens get better care than our vets. You all deserve soooo much more.

Why when they can complain to the Americans and actually get something done AT OUR EXPENSE!

And as in other statements on here our soldiers DO NOT get the attention and care that these ILLEGALS get. That is disgusting and shameful on the part of our government!
