China calls for int'l cooperation to combat illegal immigration
China on Thursday called for international cooperation to fight against such criminal activities as trafficking in human beings and illegal immigration.
The Chinese government firmly opposed to these kinds of criminal activities, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a regular press conference.
China, in recent years, had conducted series of active and fruitful measures in lawmaking, law enforcement, publicity and education fields to show its determination of cracking down on illegal immigration, Qin said.
Illegal immigration was an international issue caused by many reasons. Some overseas organizations and individuals have been engaging in trafficking in human beings and illegal immigration, Qin said, noting that under such circumstance, China called for more international cooperation to root up illegal immigration.
