Perry apologizes for 'heartless' comment on immigration question
By Justin Sink - 09/28/11 03:21 PM ET
Rick Perry said Wednesday that he was sorry for saying at last week's Republican debate that those opposed to providing an in-state tuition break to the children of illegal immigrants "did not have a heart."

Too late. Discussing the border fence is not the same as granting instate tuition for illeglas. Even if you educate these illegals, you can't employ them so what is teh logic with thata. I am wondering why no one on that debate panel didn't bring this fact up.

His comment comes no where close to his irresponsibility in granting in-state tuition to illegal aliens and their working in that state. How else would they even afford paying any college tutition, if they did not have jobs. And this is against OUR LAWS on the books at present. His apology is empty.

An apologetic Texas Gov. Rick Perry says his use of the word 'heartless' was inappropriate to describe individuals who refused to provide discounted college tuition to illegal immigrants. In an exclusive Newsmax.TV interview, Perry says he is against building a border fence--except in metropolitan areas—to stop illegal immigration.Join our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & to secure US borders by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

"If you say that we should not educate children who come into our state for no other reason than that they've been brought their through no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry said. "We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society. I think that's what Texans wanted to do. Out of 181 members of the Texas legislature when this issue came up [there were] only four dissenting votes. This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today."

I don't think my Governor Jan Brewer would agree with Perry.
And oh yeah..... A border state Governor. Acting Responsibly on behalf of her state, and, The United States of America! Imagine that. Refreshing ain't it?
