Civil rights group to move its convention from KC

A national civil rights organization co-founded by Martin Luther King Jr. is pulling its 2008 national convention from Kansas City to protest decisions by the mayor.

The Southern Christian Leadership Conference thinks Mayor Mark Funkhouser showed racial insensitivity when he appointed a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps to the park board and when he tried to oust City Manager Wayne Cauthen, an African-American, without consulting with the City Council.

Local SCLC members also have criticized Funkhouser and his wife, who allegedly called a mayoral aide “Mammy.â€

The Urban League, SCLC, NAACP and La Raza entered into a national partnership

It's now more than just civil rights for all citizens of America, folks. It's now official and unified support for the invasion.

See what your tax dollars are being given to? Salaries and overhead are beging paid for with your tax dollars.

This federal funding of groups like this has to come to a halt.

This is "diversity" run amok,......for too long we have let these ethnic-supremacist hustlers all get in on the government grant game to fund their 501(c)3's, provice job security and benefits to subversive identity politics hustlers who only look to shakedown businesses, cities, counties for grants, loans, special favored hiring partnerships, etc. based on their ethnicity and/or race. This stuff has to stop. States and local governments should institute laws that they won't accept bids for grants etc. from these types of groups whose mission it is to aid only those from a certain race/ethnicity.

Forced diversity is communism..at the least, not to mention short-sighted and really stupid.

Minorities leaders continue to beat others over the head with a club called Racism when in fact they are the real racists.

How many minority businesses are they hurting by taking their conventions else where ?

Sometimes I believe the leaders of these groups keep stirring the pot so they can line their own pockets with money.

These people need to get over themselves. They aren't as important as they think they are. Take your dam convention and go somewhere else. How about Mexico?

It's called the take over of America..... I wish other cities would tell them we don't want your convention here, thank you!! They can not stand that principle won over greed for a change.

What gets me is that these groups are, supposedly, all about the so-called exploited minorities yet by holding these big conventions aren't they part of that exploitation?


After all, who is cleaning their hotel rooms? Doing the back kitchen work in the restaurants they eat in? Toting their baggage around for them?

Waiting on them hand and foot every time they snap their fingers?

Seems to me it would be all of the "exploited minorities" these people claim to be standing up for the rights of.

I agree. They all have high-paying jobs, fly first-class and big expense accounts. They do not care about the people that their group is supposed to help. They care about money and power.
