O’Reilly, Hannity, Dobbs, Beck criticized for tough immigration talk

The National Council of La Raza and Media Matters accuse commentators Bill O’Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity of stoking the fires in the illegal immigration debate.

The quartet are cable news commentators with radio shows airing in the Phoenix market.

O’Reilly, Hannity, Beck and Dobbs favor tighter border and tougher enforcement of immigration laws. They also want businesses that hire illegal immigrants to be punished.

The NCLR favors a guest worker program and a pathway to legal status for some of the more than 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. — a stance backed by a number of Arizona and national business groups.

Hannity has a Fox News TV show and a national radio show on KFYI-AM 550. Beck and Dobbs work for CNN. Beck has a radio show on KTAR-AM 92.3. Dobbs has a radio show on KFNX-AM 1100. O’Reilly also is on Fox News with a daily radio show on KNTR-AM 980 in Phoenix. The commentators did not respond to requests for comment.
