Texans advocating extreme solutions to secure the border — including land mines and booby traps on Texas farmland along the Rio Grande — have a new forum to share their views: a website operated by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples launched protectyourtexasborder.com last week to allow ranchers and farmers living on or close to the border to share stories, pictures and videos that document their daily struggles with drug cartels and undocumented immigrants. Staples said the purpose of the site, which can be accessed from the agriculture department’s web page, is to give the producers of the nation's food and livestock a portal to pressure the federal government to pay closer attention to their security.

But they're not just sharing their stories. A message board where site visitors can register, log in and post their proposed solutions includes calls to violence.

User jcarrott suggests: “The most well known fighters of our Revolutionary war were not trained, they used hide and shot tactics that would work great today… If we — Americans — start shooting the bad guys, they will get the message!"

2$Bill offers methods like "watch groups, community patrols, land mines, tiger traps and roving packs of rabid [weasels]."

Creating the website...(protectyourtexasborder.com) is a great way for Texans to stay informed of illegal aliens crime actions and invasions of properties and could also serve as a wonderful neighborhood safety tool.

It could also be used by unfriendly law entities as a honeypot to catch what they view as "extremists."

You don't have to set traps to hear what Texans have to say about anything.
Most Texans will tell you right to your face what is on their mind.
And couldn't care less if your from the government.

That's right. thats exactly what we do

What a consequence. I just joined that forum last night and was ecstatic at some of the postings I read. These people are FED UP with waiting on the FED and STATE to secure and protect our borders like they are supposed to. They are FED up with the lack of response from the Border Patrol, ICE and DPS. Thank goodness our Constitution allow people like these brave farmers and ranchers to protect their property, families and livelihood.

State Sen. José RodrÃ*guez, D-El Paso, today asked Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples to take down the border website his office launched last week, protectyourtexasborder.com, saying it has become a “forum for promoting violence.â€

so remove all the threats of violence and let the ranchers keep posting things. simple as that
