HELPING MIGRANT STUDENTS FULFILL DREAMS FOR A COLLEGE EDUCATION SINCE 1984

PROGRAM SUMMARY :
The College Assistance Migrant Program is funded by the US Department of Education to help migrant or seasonal farm workers and their children go to college. Serving over 1,000 students since 1984, Boise State’s CAMP is one of the most established in the nation.

Financial support as well as counseling, tutoring, and mentoring helps first year students succeed. Students consider the program a caring “home baseâ€

This is one of La RAZA and MALDEF's prime jewels as many of their leaders were instrumental in getting this passed a long time ago...it is something most Americans don't have any idea they are paying for....and nowhere is it limited to U.S. born citizens or legal residents.....it is a give-away and reward to any "migrant family's" children regardless of their immigration status....courtesy of American taxpayers......

If the program was limited to legally authorized workers and U.S. citizens ...I don't think I'd have a problem with it....but that is not the case. We should be extending these kinds of educational benefits to American kids, expecially children of our military and returning Veterans.
