TOPEKA, Kan. -- Kansas House and Senate negotiators said they expect an agreement will be reached on legislation dealing with illegal immigration.
Negotiators began talking Tuesday. They're confident of getting a compromise because the majority of legislators want to pass a bill dealing with the issue.
Negotiators said there are more similarities than differences in the bills.

But one area of concern is the Senate bill's provision establishing specific amounts of bail for illegal immigrants arrested for crimes. Some fear that will increase the number of jail inmates, which will cost counties additional money.

I can see where it is more efficent to let them out of jail to commit more crimes. That would most likely save the county a lot of money or send the criminals to another state ..
