Convicted Child Molester Caught By CBP Officers at Douglas Port of Entry

Douglas, Ariz. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers apprehended a convicted child molester who was attempting to enter the U.S. by intermingling with the legitimate traveling public.

On June 12, at about 5:30 p.m., CBP officers were screening traffic coming from Mexico, when the officers became suspicious of a man who was operating a motorcycle. The man, who was accompanied by a woman, was identified as 38-year-old Jesus Castillo Esquer, a registered sex offender for child molestation.

Further investigation revealed that the man had confirmed warrants for indecency with a child and sexual contact, with a $100,000 bond, and aggravated sexual assault with a child, with a $50,000 bond. Felony indictments are pending upon the subject’s arrival in Montgomery County, Texas. The woman accompanying the man was identified as his 52-year-old wife. The woman had no pending issues and was allowed to proceed.
