Counterfeit DVDs, CDs seized in arrest

Copied CDs and DVDs with fake covers and loosely wrapped packaging were seized by authorities Friday after a Mesa investigator witnessed a man selling the items.

Police arrested Eden M. Pantaleon, 36, on suspicion of unlawful copying or sale of DVD videos and sound recordings, court records show.

Pantaleon told police he is an illegal immigrant and paid a "coyote" to smuggle him into the country.

A private investigator for a recording company contacted police regarding a man selling counterfeit CDs and DVDs on Macdonald near Main Street.
