Release Date: August 28, 2020
LAREDO, Texas – A criminal alien was arrested in a law enforcement joint operation near Zapata, Texas.
The incident occurred during the early morning of August 26, when a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer working watch operations with Zapata Station (LZT) Border Patrol agents discovered two individuals by a ranch gate off U.S. Highway 83 near the border. Both individuals revealed themselves to be from the country of Mexico and in the United States illegally. The CBP Officer placed them under arrest and LZT agents responded to assist.
Diego Andres Rodriguez-GonzalezAgents took custody of the individuals. During processing, one of the individuals was identified as Diego Andres Rodriguez-Gonzalez, a 31-year old Mexican national who was arrested in Galveston, Texas in 2003 on the charge of Indecency with a Child with Sexual Contact.
He also had a prior narcotics conviction in which he received a sentence of one-year confinement with two years’ probation. Record checks further revealed several prior deportations from the United States.
