Yes, just think of the votes at election times and the political power that comes with it? The Catholic Church along with some other Churches need to tend to the affairs they are suppose to be here for, and that does not include aiding criminals.

What gets me is that even in the bible there were borders and fortresses to keep others out. There were also the 12 tribes of Israel and they all had their own geographical areas. Maybe some of the clergy should reread the entire bible and not just the bits and pieces.

Exactly, they try to use bit and pieces of the Bible to fit their own agenda, it has nothing to do with God. Perhaps they should remember when they do this that there is a wrath of a just God and when someone twists words that he intended to be a comfort and a sword for justice......he might be just a bit unhappy.
