What a great choice Americans are given: One candidate says...In Arizona, people spoke Spanish before they spoke English...

and the other candidate says...Your Children should learn to speak Spanish!

I'm just sickened!!!

I thought you had to be a patriotic American to run for president....silly me............

The ILLEGALS and their Anchors are given more "Opportunity" to learn English than any other group new to the United States and they either "fail" or "refuse" to learn. Their agenda is NOT to "fit in" it is to take over the United States and turn it into a Third World Country such as the one they fled!

Why should Americans learn to speak Spanish??? Because we are being INVADED BY ILLEGAL LAWBREAKERS???!!!!

They were just talking about this on Rush. I for one am sick and tired of this constant bombardment of Spanish when there's a multitude of languages out there to learn and American citizens do speak and know other languages. New citizens who learned English to come here. There's isn't a highschool or college who doesn't offer foreign languages or in many cases mandate a foreign language for entry or for your major.

This is an English speaking country like it or not and ANY other language is a bonus.....just can the Spanish business. Enough already. Even those who know 2 and 3 other languages aren't considered "bi-lingual" unless they speak Spanish, under the NEW defination of "bi-lingualism".

They were singing the praises of Europe and how they speak other languages.....ya, but I doubt they are fluent in Spanish. Many don't speak English either. If Europe was so truey multi-lingual, then why are they having language issues with their citizens? Darn, they can speak English, Polish, German, Italian and they STILL aren't "good enough" because they don't speak Hindi, Vietnamese and some off beat dialect from an African tribe. I mean give me a break!

Some woman called saying she was embarrassed to go with American citizens to France. They didn't speak French. She knew French. But who's to say she wouldn't be an embarrassment if they went to Germany and someone in their group spoke German and she didn't? Do you think we should mandate that all tourists must be fluent in English or every other language on the face of the earth before they can visit any foreign country? Otherwise they are arrogant ugly tourists? It's getting totally out of hand and totally unreasonable to expect everyone to speak any and all foreign languages to live and work in their own country!!!!!! Or travel to a foreign country.

Obama is bi-lingual.....but he isn't fluent in Spanish either. He knows a few basic quotes to get the crowd riled but he's no better with that than a tourist who tries a basic "where's the bathroom" or a "thank you". I mean as president......you are wheeling and dealing with heads of a ton of different countries. Making promises and declaring war and making trade agreements......if anyone should HAVE to know a ton of different languages.....it would be ANY government official. But no.....they have translators.

In the grand scheme of things, not that many people get the chance to be world travelers.....they are trying to make it by in their own country. They aren't leaving, never planned on leaving, yet governments want to expect them to be professional linguists, fluent in every language, just to survive, appease every group who crosses their border, just to live, when they (the government) themselves can't.

My kids are bi-lingual.......they just don't speak Spanish. I did encourage the learning of another language......ANY other language. So can the business of Americans not encouraging other languages when Spanish isn't the top choice.

I'm with JAK.....I know how to say that very phrase in Russian, but I can't spell it. Feelings are all there though! LOL

I know......lets make pictures say it for us! A picture paints a thousand words! It would work great for me because I can draw....alot easier than learning over 300 different languages. .....too bad for those who didn't get the artistic gene but works for me. (Being sarcastic here)
