Customs intercepts cocaine worth millions at Texas border

Cocaine bundles seized at the Texas border. LAREDO - Cocaine worth about $2.6 million did not make it into the United States over the weekend.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers took a second look at a 2002 Nissan Altima at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge, Saturday. A drug dog named "Tramp" checked over the vehicle and alerted officers to a giant stash. Several bundles of cocaine were seized. Reyes Marroquin was arrested on federal drug charges and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
The day before, officers had seized a slightly larger load of cocaine from a 2002 Jeep Liberty at the Gateway. A drug dog named "Erik" alerted officers to something in the floor area, and officers discovered more than 44 pounds of cocaine in a compartment. Carrillo Gonzalez and Maria Olga Medellin Vargaz were arrested on federal drug conspiracy charges.
