Mexico Immersion Program

Four Dallas ISD principals traveled to Cuernavaca, Mexico, during the first week of July to participate in an intensive Spanish language program and to live with Mexican host families.

Organized by the district’s Professional Development Department, the language program gave the principals an opportunity to attend Spanish classes from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, during which time their instructors spoke to them only in Spanish. The principals lived in the homes of Spanish-speaking host families, with whom they could practice their Spanish and learn more about Mexican culture and customs. The principals also spent time visiting sites of cultural and historical interest.
