Armed home invaders tie up occupants, steal vehicles
ARIZONA DAILY STAR
A group of armed robbers burst into a home in the Northwest Side this morning, tied up the occupants and drove off in three stolen vehicles, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said.
Three or four suspects with guns forced their way into the back door of a home in the 5800 block of North Mona Lisa Drive and demanded the keys for the vehicles, said Deputy Dawn Barkman. They tied up five adults and three children and then stole the vehicles, which were parked in the home’s backyard.
A maroon 1999 Jeep Cherokee, a tan 2005 Chrysler 300 and a maroon 2001 Chevy pickup were stolen, Barkman said. The Jeep and the Chrysler had Mexican license plates.
No one was injured.
The Sheriff’s Department has no leads at this time, Barkman said. She could not say why the home and the vehicles were targeted or if the suspects were linked to other crimes in the Tucson metropolitan area.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line of the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
