Missouri governor meets with Mexican President Vicente Fox

    Associated Press

MEXICO CITY - Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt met with Mexican President Vicente Fox in his presidential residence on Monday to discuss trade and other issues, including immigration.

Fox "brought up the issue (of immigration)," said Blunt, who is on a three-day visit to Mexico - his first international trade trip as governor. "He acknowledged that it's an issue, he's aware of that, and he's hopeful that some positive steps can be made on it."

Blunt added that immigration is "a growing concern in the United States."

Each year, an estimated 400,000 Mexicans leave their country. Many of them join the estimated 11 million undocumented migrants living in the United States.

Blunt is traveling with a delegation that includes representatives of the Missouri Corn Grower's Association, who he said are "hopeful that they can sell more corn in Mexico."

Blunt is scheduled to visit the Pacific coast port of Lazaro Cardenas on Tuesday. On Wednesday, before returning home, Blunt is scheduled to visit the northern industrial hub of Monterrey, where he said he hopes to encourage business and investment ties, and "explore ways to create jobs."

Hey, Governor Blunt ! Did you happen to mention Mexico's "corrupt" government in your discussion with that outstanding man, the forever famous, Vicente Fox

Oh my, Governor Blunt, we wouldn't want to appear "rude", now would we. Better skip that "little detail" whenever visiting Mexico or Vicente Fox. Be sure to be "polite" to everyone, like our president always is. THIS IS WHAT COUNTS THE MOST !!

By the way, Governor, you certainly picked a nice time of year to
take this little business trip. What's the temperature in Missouri ?

I'm sure it was a nice little "get a way" that you took for the people of Missouri.

WE CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH ALL OF YOU. WHEN DOES MISSOURI ELECT A NEW GOVERNOR ? HOPEFULLY IN 2006.
