'Dog' Chapman's bail set at $300,000

    By Ken Kobayashi
    Advertiser Staff Writer
Duane "Dog" Chapman, star of the television reality show "Dog the Bounty Hunter," was ordered released on bail this afternoon while awaiting extradition proceedings sending him to Mexico to face illegal detention charges.

    U. S. Magistrate Judge Barry Kurren ruled that Chapman can be released on $300,000 bail. Kurren ordered him to remain at home unless he has to leave his house for his business.

Chapman's son Leland and Tim Chapman (no relation), can be freed on $100,000 bail each, Kurren said.

Chapman and the other two were arrested by by U. S. Marshals yesterday morning on a federal extradition warrant signed by a federal judge. They were being held at the Federal Detention Center near Honolulu International Airport.

The three had a hearing yesterday before Kurren, who set another hearing for this afternoon on whether to release the three on bail.

The three are wanted back in Mexico in connection with their 2003 capture Andrew Luster, a Max Factor heir and convicted rapist. Dog Chapman tracked Luster down in Puerto Vallarta. The Chapmans and their camera crew were later arrested on kidnapping charges.

They were released by Mexican authorities on bail, but did not show up at a hearing in the case in Mexico on July 15, 2003.

Who's this JACKASS of a judge? He's being told what to do by someone. My guess is Alberto Gonzalas, who is out to make an example of Dog and the 2 Border agents in jeopardy.

This is what happens when you have some (not all) latins in power in the United States. These freaking people cannot and do not know how to be unbiased, or non-racial for that matter. You cannot show me more than 1 or 2 in 10 latins in power who do their duty for and in the name of the American people, NOT JUST ONLY FOR LATINS Gonzolas is pandering to Mexico. ALBERTO IS THE CRIMINAL HERE. He's a typical latin RINGLEADER with a typical latin DICTATORIAL approach. All I know is that this would not have been the case 30 years ago. Dog would have been celebrated and written about for his accomplishments in the papers. Impowering Mexico this way is not a wise thing to do, because it will come back and bite us on the butt. Why in hell is our government subsidising La Raza, a racist group who call themselves "The Race"? We need a congressional intervention here, BIG TIME!!!!

And another thing..this extradition order is just another feeble attempt to 'condition' the American citizen to being subjective to Mexico's laws by making an example out of Dog Chapman. It's all part of the inter-twining of our laws and Mexico's laws (and Canada's) that will be done behind the scenes. THEN, when the NAU is implimented, everything will already be in place.

To hell with the 'New World Order'. Alberto Gonzolas is a traitor to the US and only has Mexico in his best interests.

Duane "Dog" Chapman released on bail

Last year, one of our Bernallilo Deputies was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop. The person who killed him fled to Mexico. When our law enforcement officials went to get him from a Juarez, Mexico jail where he was incarerated for "illegal entry into Mexico", the authorities refused to release him until the deputies paid $2,000 for his release. They had to take the money from their own accounts for fear the authorities would release him to the first person who came up with the $2,000. The law enforcement officials possessed a warrant for his arrest.

I find it amazing that our government would release a person to Mexico when such corruption as cited above exists.
