Deep-Red Mississippi Hands Black Robe to Full-Hijab Yemeni Immigration Attorney Who Guides Illegals to Citizenship Paths

Assma Ali announced her new appointment in a now-deleted Facebook post.

Mississippi conservatives are demanding answers after Ridgeland immigration attorney Assma A. Ali announced that she had been selected to serve as a municipal court judge, a history-making appointment celebrated by supporters as the first of its kind for a Yemeni-American Muslim woman who wears a hijab.

Amy Mek, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of RAIR Foundation, pushed the controversy into the national spotlight, accusing red-state officials of surrendering a “final firewall” and arguing that Ali’s immigration work and political associations deserve scrutiny.

She wrote on X:

Red State Mississippi just appointed America’s first Yemeni Sharia-hijabi judge.

Assma A. Ali – a full-hijab-wearing “immigration” attorney who built her career guiding illegal entrants and visa overstayers onto citizenship paths without ever needing a green card – now sits on the municipal bench.

Within hours, Yemeni community pages were gushing with pride – America is being conquered from within!

This is the same woman who:

• Extracted an “Arab American Heritage Month” proclamation from Republican Governor Tate Reeves

• Publicly defended the jew-hating, Saddam-glorifying, Muslim Brotherhood-linked Amer Ghalib.

He is the Former Hamtramck mayor – whose nomination as U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait collapsed in the Senate in October 2025 amid bipartisan opposition over his record – of COURSE Assma A. Ali was at the hearing to stand with him!

Assma specializes in the exact legal mechanisms that reward illegal entry.

And Republicans in a deep-red state handed her the gavel. Have we lost out minds!?

This is ideological embedding inside the final firewall.

Once the red states fall, there is nowhere left to hold the line.

Assma A. Ali – the full-hijab-wearing immigration attorney just handed a black robe and gavel in your red state – was right there behind the highly controversial Amer Ghalib, the former mayor of all-Islamic Hamtramck (the Michigan city famous for backyard halal animal slaughter and complete Muslim political control).

She wrote a lengthy public defense the same day (October 23, 2025), calling the exposure of his record “misleading and unethical.”

She praised his “integrity, honesty, and composure,” declared him “deeply committed to serving this nation with honor,” and said she was “even more confident” he would be confirmed.

That Facebook post appears to have since been scrubbed from her page after RAIR Foundation USA’s expose!

Here is exactly what she was defending – documented by Benjamin Baird and grilled by senators from both parties:

• Called Saddam Hussein (the dictator who invaded Kuwait) a “martyr”

• Liked and endorsed comments comparing Jews to “monkeys”

• Praised the Muslim Brotherhood as “inspirational”

• Admitted on Facebook to filling out absentee ballots for other voters during the 2020 primaries (“I did their families’ ballot cards myself”)

• Shared a racist meme mocking Black people as looters and alcoholics during the George Floyd riots

• Used derogatory language about Christians and accused Arab leaders of “becoming Jewish”
Senators Ted Cruz, Dave McCormick, and others from both sides of the aisle destroyed his ambassador nomination over this record.

The Senate sent it back to the White House without action.

Yet Assma A. Ali sat behind him in support… publicly defended him… and is now a judge interpreting American law in Mississippi.

This is who is being elevated in the Republican-led state !? Why!?

Ali’s professional record is not hidden. Her law firm, Ali & Associates, advertises deportation defense, asylum, cancellation of removal, citizenship and naturalization, adjustment of status, DACA, U-visas and other forms of relief created by federal immigration law. Her biography says she represents detained and non-detained clients before immigration courts, USCIS and ICE.

Mek later claimed that Ali removed her Facebook announcement after RAIR’s report appeared. That deletion claim and the reason for any removal have not been independently established.

She wrote on X:

“After RAIR Foundation USA’s massive expose on Assma A. Ali – her appointment as Mississippi’s first Yemeni Sharia-hijabi municipal judge, her career legalizing illegal entrants, and her network of Marxists, Muslim Brotherhood-linked figures, and troubling Islamic supremacists –
she has scrubbed her public announcement of the new role. We captured everything and more….

The Facebook post in which she proudly declared she would continue practicing immigration law while serving as a Municipal Court Judge, complete with her photo in the black robe and gavel, has been removed.”

Ali’s friend, Bridging Cultures Group founder Debbie Almontaser, celebrated the appointment as an extraordinary milestone. She described Ali as the daughter of Yemeni immigrants, praised her work for vulnerable immigrants and said Ali would bring that experience and compassion to the bench.

Almontaser’s post called Ali the first Yemeni-American Muslim hijabi woman to become a judge in the United States.

She wrote on Facebook:

I have known Assma Ali for over ten years. And I have never had a single doubt that she was destined for greatness. 🤍✨

Today I am overjoyed to celebrate her appointment as a Municipal Court Judge in the State of Mississippi, making her the first Yemeni American Muslim hijabi woman to become a judge in this country.

Assma is the daughter of Yemeni immigrants who came to this country in the 1970s seeking a better life for their family. She took that dream and built something extraordinary with it. As the founding immigration attorney at her own firm, she has dedicated her career to fighting for the most vulnerable immigrants, the ones who have no voice, no power, and nowhere else to turn.

She has traveled across this country representing clients, spoken at major legal conferences, and been recognized as one of the top lawyers in her field.

And now she will carry all of that experience, all of that compassion, and all of that fight onto the bench.
