    Exactly. Welcome to ALIPAC, Seter!

    Thanks!

Been lurking around here for the past month or two, figured I might as well poke my head up.

There may be a statistical truth to that one, but only statistical.

If an area is suddenly engorged with an extra 15 or 20% population, and that population does not report the huge majority of crimes then the "per capita incidence" will appear to fall while, in reality, it can rise drastically because of that population becoming "easy prey."

I actually asked a DPD officer about this not long ago because at a neighborhood watch type meeting the numbers were just not adding up on the crime statistics sheet he passed out compared to what we could see and have secondary knowledge of in the neighborhood.
I don't care who you are, how you got here, what color you are, what language/dialect you speak... If you didn't get here legally then you don't belong here. Period.

This is part of an email the San Diego Union Tribune has just sent to their readers.

YOU DELIVERED A CLEAR MESSAGE ON OUR OPINION PAGES.
Ninety percent of you say you want opinion pages that offer a wide range of viewpoints, while 8% of you prefer pages with more conservative viewpoints, and 2% express a desire for more liberal viewpoints. As for the editorials themselves, you ask that they be more informative, more thought provoking and less predictable.
