ALIPAC: Bush -- 'king' of AIDS immigration?
Bush -- 'king' of AIDS immigration?

Pres BushAn immigration activist is questioning the White House decision to give foreign nationals with HIV/AIDS a special waiver to obtain short-term visas to enter the country.
At a recent White House press briefing, Press Secretary Dana Perino was asked if President Bush agrees with a call by Senators John Kerry (D-Massachusetts) and Gordon Smith (R-Oregon) for the lifting of a ban on immigration into the U.S. for those who have HIV or AIDS.
Perino said the president has directed the Secretary of State to request that the Secretary of Homeland Security initiate a rulemaking to propose a categorical waiver for HIV-positive people seeking to enter the United States on short-term visas, which will provide a more streamlined process.
William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), takes issue with the move. "Whether you feel that people with HIV should or should not be allowed into the country for treatment or short-term visas – regardless of how you feel about that – that should be debated by the American public [and] debated in Congress. And Congress should set that policy. Bush is playing king again," Gheen explains.
He says easing restrictions on AIDS visas will open the floodgates for those individuals to come to the U.S. "It says that the president is ordering a short-term visa – a blanket waiver – which means that people who might have been looking to immigrate to the United States can now actually use the HIV-positive status to obtain a short-term visa," Gheen contends.
The president, according to Gheen, overstepped his authority in issuing this directive. Gheen believes granting short-term visas, even for people with infectious diseases like AIDS, would be more tolerable if Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials were doing anywhere close to their job of deporting those who overstay their visas.

Mr W is so right, congress should be all over this. There isn't a chance in hell that these people will leave once they get into the States. I don't know about anyone else, but I have had it,I am so pushed into a corner anymore. This will cost us plenty, and I'm not just talking money either. How much are we to take?? When can I get out of the corner?I'm a stranger in my own country after 63 years.

We should not even consider loosening any restrictions on visas until we enforce the current laws and crack down on the millions of visa overstayers who are still illegally here.

What in the world is wrong with this President? He seems to overlook anything that's potentially dangerous to the American people. We can't even get this jerk to secure the borders.
RIP TinybobIdaho -- May God smile upon you in his domain forevermore.

PRESIDENT BUSH IS THE WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY!
Bush has already pulled America down into the pits, NOW THIS? It is irresponsible and moronic to put this burdeon on the American people. Why should he be able to make it easier for HIV/AIDS foreigners to enter the U.S.? Is Bush going to pay for their medical bills? NO, BUT WE WILL.
The health of every American is already in peril because of the illegal aliens that use our hospitals as doctors offices or clinics. Many hospitals are going broke or shutting down, and the costs are being billed to the taxpayers.
Bush is getting his last laugh. The oil stocks are making him happy. He is getting amnesty in bits and pieces through crooked and paid for politicians. Its obvious to me that Bush doesnt care about being America's worst president.RIP Butterbean! We miss you and hope you are well in heaven.-- Your ALIPAC friends

Just when I thought I had seen and heard it all.
What is this idiot thinking ? We can afford to furnish these people with health care the rest of thier lives ?
Bush you stupid Jack a_ _
Not to mention that I am sure that all these good people thats headed here as soon as they start giving out the visas will surely pass along the information to all thier sex partners here in the USA that they have aides. WONT THEY ?We can't deport them all ? Just think of the fun we could have trying!

Once here they have to stay for continuing medical care since it is a terminal illness. What the heck is going on. Has Lou Dobbs, or Glenn Beck said anything about this?

Wake me up...am I in hell? Not only with a blind eye to massive unvetted, many disease carrying illegal immigrants invading our country; our "leaders" are now going to willfully import infectious diseases. And create a special legal visa to do so. Remember folks, there is not even ONE government agency or department that is charged with seeing that visa holders abide by the terms of their visas and depart when the visa expires. NOT ONE...NONE...NADA!!!
