VICTORIA - A 37-year-old Houston man, by police Thursday to hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. An officer was told by a staff member at the Women's Crisis Center that the husband of a woman was in town looking for his wife, according to the arrest report. The officer was told that man was driving a silver Honda with Mexico tags, found the car at a hotel in the 200 block of East Rio Grande. The man, who was in one of the rooms, told the man that he was looking for his wife and that he was in the process of extending his stay in the country through immigration, the report said. The officer had previously received information from the agency was in the process of deporting the man. An ICE agent, who was called by phone, determined that the man's residency card was fake and actually issued to someone else. The agent told the officer to detain the man for the agency, the report said.
