DETROIT -- Police have arrested two men on charges of obtaining fake driver's licenses and Social Security cards for illegal immigrants.

According to the criminal complaint, Immigrations and Custom Enforcement agents began investigating Benny Siriky Bamba in March, when they said he bragged he could get fake driver's licenses and Social Security cards for illegals for $250 cash.

An undercover agent provided Bamba with stolen information, and Bamba later provided the agent with a driver's license and matching Social Security card, according to the complaint.

Agents busted Bamba and wired him up with hidden cameras, the complaint stated.

He then made several trips to the African Market on West McNicholes Road, where he met with Mohammad Diabete, the store owner's son, who also provided fake driver's licenses and Social Security cards once he received cash, a photo and someone else's information, the complaint stated.

Residents were stunned to learn of the sting operation.

Both men were charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States and four counts of fraud with identification documents. They face serious prison time or deportation if convicted.
