DHS Accuses Medical Staff at Ontario, California Surgical Center of Dragging ICE Agent and Fleeing Illegal Alien Off the Street and into Hospital in Effort to Stop Deportation (Video)

A video went viral late Tuesday night that shows a Central American man at a hospital struggling mightily as ICE agents tried to take him into custody as medical staff interfered with his arrest.

In video posts on Instagram, the usual accusations from the usual suspects were made accusing the Trump administration of dragging a sick man away from his doctor visit. Late Wednesday afternoon, those videos were taken down.

As Paul Harvey used to say, here’s the rest of the story, per the Department of Homeland Security:

THE FACTS: ICE officers conducted a targeted enforcement operation to arrest two illegal aliens.

Officers in clearly marked ICE bullet proof vests approached the illegal alien targets as they exited a vehicle.

One of the illegal aliens, Denis Guillen-Solis who is from Honduras, fled on foot to evade law enforcement. He ended up near the Ontario Advanced Surgical Center where hospital staff assaulted law enforcement and drug the officer and illegal alien into the facility.

Then, the staff attempted to obstruct the arrest by locking the door, blocking law enforcement vehicles from moving, and even called the cops claiming there was a “kidnapping.”

DHS is accusing the medical staff of dragging a fleeing illegal alien and an ICE agent trying to arrest him off the street and into the hospital.

The man was reportedly working as a landscaper at the facility, but the staff could not be sure whether or not he was a gang member or if he was armed. They put all their patients and staff at risk.

Ontario Advance Surgical Center is part of SCA Health and is an “Affiliated Facility” with Kaiser Permanente.

The arrest happened Tuesday morning when an agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) entered the private facility to detain 30-year-old Dennis Guillen, a landscaper originally from Honduras.

Javier Hernandez, executive director of the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice, said clinic staff called his organization’s rapid response team as the arrest unfolded.

Staff members began documenting the incident, repeatedly demanding to see a warrant.

“They were able to assert their rights,” Hernandez said. “This is private property. They had every right to ask, ‘Who are you? Show us your badge.'”

A brief cellphone video clip shared on social media shows clinic staff confronting the agent, saying, “You guys need a warrant to come in here.”

…Guillen came to the U.S. several years ago and has been sending money home to support his mother in Honduras, who is on dialysis. His mother relies on the money he sends every week, Hernandez said.
