Things not adding up at DHS

ALERT: New Border Patrol instructions and Homeland Security’s ammo purchases don’t add up. Take Action! Demand Congress to DEFUND and DISMANTLE the police state!

A new report reveals that the captain of U.S. Border Control has now instructed border agents to essentially retreat from illegal aliens and drug smugglers.
The Daily Caller’s Neil Munro writes:
“Agents shall not discharge firearms in response to thrown or hurled projectiles… agents should obtain a tactical advantage in these situations, such as seeking cover or distancing themselves,” said the instructions, issued Mar. 7, under the signature of Michael Fisher, chief of U.S. Border Patrol.
Agents were also directed to keep their weapons holstered when drug smugglers drive by.
Agents can’t use guns against “a moving vehicle merely fleeing from agents,” say the instructions.
The new instructions do allow agents to use guns to defend themselves from vehicles that drive at them. “Agents shall not discharge their firearms at a moving vehicle unless the agent has a reasonable belief that… deadly force is being used against an agent,” the new instructions say.
However, the instructions also suggest that officers be penalized if they don’t step back. Agents “should not place themselves in the path of a motor vehicle or use their body to block a vehicles’s path,” according to new instructions.
This said, why on earth is the same Department stockpiling ammunition?
Things aren’t adding up.
Border agents have arguably the most dangerous job in all of federal law enforcement and if they are being told to refrain from using lethal force on the job, then for what reason is Homeland Security hoarding mass quantities of bullets?
Congress has got to answer this question, and it’s an outrage enough that they haven’t put this issue to bed already.
We’ve got to demand that every round purchased by the DHS be accounted for. We need to know exactly why Homeland Security is sitting on more ammunition per officer than the U.S. Army!

2.5K Rounds per DHS Officer
According to a new GAO report, the Department of Homeland Security is planning on buying an massive amount of ammunition over the next four years.
The report shows that Obama’s DHS is contracted to purchase a total 704,390,250 rounds through fiscal year 2018!
David Maurer, the report’s author, says this means each DHS officer will receive approximately 2,500 rounds per year for the next four years, totaling at 10,000 rounds.
(Already this month the DHS placed an order for tens of thousands of sniper rounds — more on that below.)
But it’s not just Homeland Security, other agencies are becoming more and more militarized under Obama’s watch. On January 31, even the United States Postal Service placed an order for ammunition!
As Conservative Action Alerts contributor John Whitehead says:
“[W]hy do domestic agencies having nothing to do with national defense, such as the Postal Service, the Department of Education, the IRS and the Social Security Administration (SSA), need mass quantities of ammunition and weaponry?”
Sadly, We the People can’t answer this. We have no idea why these purchases are being made and what the federal government is preparing for.

DHS Solicits Sniper Ammo
The Department of Homeland security is looking to add 141,000 rounds of sniper ammunition to their current stockpile.
According to fbo.gov, the DHS placed an order this month for approximately 7,058 boxes of Hornady .308 Win 168gr A-MAX TAP Ammunition – rounds that the manufacturer calls its “most accurate … sophisticated boattail hollow point.”
And these rounds aren’t the federal government’s economical option either; consider the following comment from James Smith:
“Hornady ammunition is not for the budget minded, and the Federal government will pay a premium price for their sniper ammunition: approximately $1.20 for each round, when they can get a lower grain .308 round for as little as $0.69 for a 147 grain .308 round …”
These costly purchases prove that Homeland Security has not discontinued its ammunition stockpiling even though the Department already possesses hundreds of millions of rounds. It also paints the DHS’ claim that the bullets are used for “training purposes” to be a sham seeing that hollow-point bullets are not used for exercises.
Looking at the bigger picture, Obama’s militarization of the DHS is right in line with his goal of building a non-military “national security force” – the one he referenced when he said the following in his 2008 campaign:
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
If this is the case, Congress has got to defund these purchases immediately.
It’s important that we contact members of the United States Congress right away and demand that they investigate these purchases and begin to defund Obama’s police state!

More Ammo per officer than the U.S. Army
In a special committee meeting last year, Rep. Jason Chaffetz pointed out that the Department of Homeland Security – at that time having roughly 260 million rounds – possesses more rounds than the United States Army per capita!
“Based on Homeland Security’s allocation of 1,300 to 1,600 rounds per officer,” said Rep. Chaffetz. “Homeland Security officers used roughly a thousand rounds more per person, or, per officer, than the average Army officer …”
Here are a just few of the DHS’ ammunition solicitations from that fiscal year; see here, here, here, and here.
The DHS’ Transportation Security Administration is also being armed even though, at least under current policy, TSA agents inside airports currently carry no weapons.
Last August, the TSA solicited 3,454,000 rounds of .347 caliber ammunition.
Government Security News reported that, with such a stock, “the TSA could fire off more than 9,400 rounds per day, every day of the year, to consume that entire quantity annually.”
Again, this solicitation was made for “training purposes” …
These numbers just don’t add up. Why does the DHS need, as a whole, more ammo than the U.S. Army – the constitutional arm of the federal government created for our defense? And why do unarmed TSA agents need to stockpile enough “training” ammo to fire-off 3,321 20-round boxes per week for an entire year?
Whether the Executive Branch is simply purchasing excessive amounts of ammunition for back-door gun-control – viz. evaporating the ammunition supply – or for more sinister reasons, it’s absolutely necessary for Congress to take action and intervene!

DHS to track License Plates, Cars as they Drive
Barack Obama’s Department of Homeland Security is also ramping up its efforts to use your tax dollars to further destroy privacy.
The DHS’ latest initiative is to build a centralized license-plate database through gathering data from license plate scanners that collect and store information off of vehicles as they move.
This type of surveillance system, if adopted, would allow the federal government to track us whenever and wherever we drive.
“Ultimately, you’re creating a national database of location information,” says Jessica Lynch of the Electronic Freedom Foundation. “When all that data is compiled and aggregated, you can track somebody as they’re going through their life.”
Make no mistake, this program is nothing more than a data-collection tool for Big Brother and just the latest example of how the American police state is being built in front of our very eyes.
We’ve got to call on Congress to pull the plug on this privacy-killing program and start working to defund and dismantle the police state now!
As you will see below, it’s clear that Barack Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform America” is well under way …

Interment Camps for American Citizens
February 19 marked the seventy-second anniversary of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s infamous Executive Order No. 9066 that incarcerated Americans of Japanese descent.
While this event is a fact of the past, it’s a necessary reminder that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights have been overturned in our nation’s history for the sake of “the emergency” — it is also a reminder of the power of the executive order.
Shockingly, Justice Scalia suspects the federal government will likely bring back 1942-style internment camps for Americans… he recently told law students in Hawaii that “you’d kidding yourself if you think the same thing will not happen again.”
“It was wrong, but I would not be surprised to see it happen again in time of war,” said Scalia this month. “It’s no justification but it is the reality.”
While we aren’t suggesting a round-up of Americans is currently in the works, we do know that the American Police State has undoubtedly grown stronger under Barack Obama — the new champion of Executive Orders — and Americans are necessarily concerned.
This is why we’ve got to demand Congress to start taking action, asking questions, and begin to defund and dismantle the expanding police state!

A Fundamentally Transformed America
Some of our Nation’s founders rightly warned against “standing armies,” having the memory of King George III’s continental troops and their tyranny fresh in their minds.
It was James Madison who said that, “A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty.”
Sadly, it appears that Barack Obama’s “fundamentally transformed America” includes such a force… made of non-defense executive departments and agencies.
While it is true that all branches of government have encroached upon our God-given freedoms – the Congress and the Courts both playing a part – America’s overgrown Executive is chiefly to blame.
Through executive orders, actions, memoranda, and other forms of “executive legislation” Barack Obama is turning America into a police state.
Last year we saw Obama’s full-blown attack against the Second Amendment, and just last month we saw him recommit himself to a “Year of Action” without Congress.
How much longer will Congress – a separate, but equal power – allow the Constitution and the Rule of Law be trampled by Obama and his hired men?
As Obama has declared himself as an enemy of the Constitution, it’s time for principled lawmakers to start stopping him and his lawless agenda!
The House and the Senate must take action against Obama’s dictatorship by fully defunding and dismantling his police state programs!
