    DISSECTING THE HISPANIC VOTE

    DISSECTING THE HISPANIC VOTE

The surest road to political irrelevance
is to be written off by one party
and taken for granted by the other.

    By Ruben Navarrette, Jr.

Conventional wisdom is that the Republican Party has cooked its goose with Hispanic voters for the 2008 election and beyond, not just because it took a hard-line on immigration reform but because some conservatives actually helped lead a debate that became anti-Hispanic.

Many will remember when Colorado’s Rep. Tom Tancredo, GOP presidential candidate and perhaps the most unabashedly nativist lawmaker in Washington, told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, [b]“We are becoming a bilingual nation, and that is not good.â€

    Hmmmmmmmmm. Detention centers?

Why not? These are illegal aliens, they have broken our laws. No shame in such an action here.

During WW 11, we put our own citizens/legal emigrants in these. They did no wrong, but were from countries we were fighting. There is shame in that action.

Granted there are too many and attrition is probably going to be the route to go. But we must also be sure that when we deport someone they stay deported.........

If our government wants to print the funny money, they should be printing lots to build the fence, hire & train many more border patrol officers, use all the technology at hand, increase the number of ICE officers, train every police officer in every department in the country in ICE's 287g program, build whatever they need in prisons, require Mexico to compensate us for our expenses, and the other countries of illegal aliens, and be sure to correct amendment 14 that babies born here unlesss of a USA citizen are not citizens automatically as well as making the fine for hiring illegals so high it'll make the fat lady sing, and being sure to enforce same. All we really have to do is enforce what's already on the books for the most part.

Heck we could even use the neighborhood watch program to catch them.

You wanna bet that will work?

I don't want a police state, real id or any other infringement on my rights, I am tired to bits of all that political rag. This nation was not founded on such ideas.

But we need to regain control of our own country and we do have the laws that stand ready to be enforced, but we must want to enforce them and end this destruction and division.

Hispanic vote, Black vote, Conservative Christian vote, Female vote, Gay vote, Asian vote, etc.

Remember when the voters were classified according to party affiliation?
