Drug raid finds fake identity documents
Man charged after police find Social Security cards

A two-month investigation into drug sales at a Georgetown house led to the arrests of three men, including one for making fraudulent Social Security cards, police said.




No drugs were found, they said.

Georgetown police Lt. Lawrence Grose identified the three suspects as: Rene Morales-Mazariegos, 28, and Reynaldo Leal and Nicholas Ojeda, both 25, all of the 100 block of Cedar St.

When police and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided the home, they found a computer and high quality printer, camera and microscope used to produce counterfeit identification cards, police said in court records.

Mazariegos also was found with numerous identifications from different states and several blank Social Security cards, the records say.

He is in the country illegally and was charged with forgery and criminal impersonation and faces deportation, Grose said.

Mazariegos was being held without bail in Sussex Correctional Institution.

While officers were serving the search warrant, Ojeda was leaving in a car and had brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia, Grose said.

Ojeda also was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on charges of illegally possessing a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

A search for illegal narcotics in Leal's bedroom turned up a pipe used to smoke marijuana, police said.

Leal was released on bail on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, Grose said.

Most of those seem to be aimed at underage drinking etc. I was hoping there were specific laws for false IDs used to claim citizenship.
