NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Nashville man accused of duping immigrants with fake government documents has agreed to temporarily shut down his businesses.

The state Attorney General's office alleges that Elmer Virula told immigrants he could help them with their immigration problems, file their tax returns and perform legal marriages for them.

The lawsuit states, however, that he is not legally authorized to do those things.

Prosecutors had sought an injunction against Virula to shut down his businesses until the case goes to court.

On Wednesday, Davidson County Circuit Court Judge Hamilton Gayden approved an agreement to allow Virula to voluntarily close his offices.

A trial date has not yet been set.
