Two Buses Fire bombed in Ciudad Quetzal

Two buses went up in flames this morning (Wed) when unknown attackers threw a firebomb in one, and sprayed the other in gasoline before torching it also. The buses belong to a man being investigated for a bombing on January 3rd which killed nine people. The National Police are investigating whether the attack is a vendetta. The owner of the one bus is believed to have bought it with extortion money. However, a union official believes the attacks are for failure to pay extortion of about Q300,000 per month, which is over $37,000 US. He estimated the losses would amount to Q200,000.
