A top lieutenant of the notorious Jamaican Clansman gang, wanted by Jamaican authorities for the murder of two police officers, has been deported to Jamaica by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency announced Friday.

Raymond Jackson, also known as Renard Harrison, was flown to Jamaica on Thursday aboard a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine aircraft. He was escorted by agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Jackson, 31, first arrived in South Florida by boat on April 26, 2006, near Jupiter in Palm Beach County. He was caught, and deported May 22, 2006.

A few days later, two officers were killed in Spanish Town, considered the murder capital of Jamaica because two of the country's most notorious gangs -- aligned with each of the two major political parties -- operate there.

They were identified as Cpl. Lincoln Parker, a member of the Special Anti-Crime Task Force, and Det. Sgt. Desmond Carter.

A story in the Jamaica Gleaner reported that Carter, who worked in the narcotics division, was killed after being shot by three men at 11:45 p.m. May 26, 2006, in a restaurant.

Parker was shot dead on June 3. Soon after, Jackson was named a suspect.

''He's very dangerous,'' said Inspector Steve Brown, a spokesman with Operation KingFish, the elite investigative task force in Jamaica. ``It's a big thing for us to have gotten him back.''

Jackson was arrested by Lauderhill police on Jan. 16, 2007, in an unrelated case. Immigration officials then held Jackson for deportation.
