DREAM Act > Taking Action Lisa Murkowski

Looks like Lisa Murkowski is going to win, in Alaska. I stumbled upon this web site which shows the "other side" is working hard to convince her to support the Dream Act.

We better make a few phone calls and emails of our own !

    .Hello fellow DREAMies.

Tonight, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), announced that she would continue in the race for Senator even after losing her primary election to Tea Party backed Joe Miller. In doing so, she is giving the GOP leadership a big "F-U" because they threw their entire support for the Tea Partier after her loss. Some leaders even issued stern warnings to her. So now Alaska will end up with a split Republican vote and who knows, the seat might go to the Democrat.

I say, since she's in the mood for giving the GOP the finger, we give her a call for support on the DREAM Act.

Edit: don't forget to tell her how great it is that she's still running for the senate seat!

.I've been faxing documents to her DC office since yesterday. She voted Nay last time, but I thought I'd reach out to her anyway 'cause the GOP basically pushed her off the boat. Her loss to Joe Miller is evidence that the true conservatives won't be voting for her in the general election. If she wants to win back the seat, she needs to appear more moderate to attract the more liberal types.

.As of 9/17/2010 11:34 PM CST:

Voicemail is full for DC, and Fairbanks

Ketchikan is still open right now, and they will only take DREAM messages no campaign messages.

.When making pro-DREAM calls to Murkowski's offices, it might be a good idea to briefly mention how glad you are that she has decided to run as a write-in candidate for the Senate seat. (I know she hasn't been a supporter in the past, but she's probably less conservative than the other Republican on the ballot).
