Thread: DREAMer Amnesty Would Risk Protecting Gang Members, Says Expert

A plan touted by President Trump’s top aides to legalize the nearly 800,000 illegal aliens currently protected by an Obama-era amnesty program would include giving gang members and criminals a path to United States citizenship, experts argue.

The White House is reportedly eyeing an immigration deal that would give amnesty to illegal aliens currently covered by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which candidate Trump blasted on the campaign trail.

In exchange for the DACA amnesty, the Trump base would see funding for a border wall, the passing of the legal immigration-cutting RAISE Act, and mandatory E-Verify, among other things.

The legalization of all DACA recipients, often referred to as DREAMers, would include giving gang members and criminal illegal aliens a pathway to U.S. citizenship, as the screening process for DACA has proven minuscule, immigration hawks argue.

“We know that the DACA recipients were not screened well,” Center for Immigration Studies Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan told Breitbart Texas. “Most of [the DREAMers] were not even interviewed. We also know that many people who received DACA should not have.”

Under the Obama Administration’s screening standards, illegal aliens with criminal backgrounds, even convicted felons, were still able to receive DACA protections, despite the public safety risk they caused.

Vaughan says “hundreds of known gang members” have received DACA, as well as illegal aliens who got involved in gang activity after they received the status.

Most recently, three illegal alien gang members who were arrested by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency were revealed to have been given protected status under DACA, Breitbart Texas reported.

In a report by the Seattle Times, DHS officials revealed that since DACA’s inception, more than 1,500 DREAMers saw their statuses revoked due to involvement in gangs or other crimes.

Vaughan states that the federal government has never released data on how many DACA recipients do not speak English, take public assistance, how many are working, and even how old they are.

“We know nothing about the DACA population,” Vaughan told Breitbart Texas. “The American people deserve to know who the DACA recipients are before we do anything on legalizing them.”

Despite campaigning on the promise to shutter DACA, Trump has yet to cease issuing protection statuses.

Before Trump took office, the Obama Administration rushed to grant DACA statuses, ballooning the number of illegal aliens given the protection to more than 120,000 in his last three months in office, Breitbart Texas reported.

Trump added more than 125,000 illegal aliens to the DACA rolls in his first four months in office, Breitbart News reported. According to a POLITICO report, Blackstone Group CEO Steve Schwarzman pushed Trump to keep DACA.

END DACA NOW. Forget the wall for now. Forget the tax cuts for now. Either they fund the wall and pass the tax cuts or they don't. If they don't fund the wall or pass the tax cuts, they'll pay a price in 2018 for not doing so. The Wall and tax cuts are not nearly as important as deporting illegal aliens already in the United States and ending any and all programs or hopes of programs that impede those deportations like DACA.

Stand up for Americans First, Stand up for US Borders, Stand up for US Law, just and necessary law that protects the rights and opportunities of Americans and the sovereignty of the United States.

And end it all, end it quick, the program expired June 15, announce you are not renewing and all work permits are now null and void. Period.

No deals! Build the wall.

And get that Safe Zone YOU promised to set up and start deporting all these refugees! Get them OFF our soil. Put them to work on their soil building villages and businesses with their OIL money...not our taxpayer dollars.

Get this going now and stop bringing people here! Now they are fleeing to Canada...good...but they do not want them either! Stop this human trafficking and stop the unrelenting invasion of our country and the costs coming out of OUR pockets!

This can't be, the DREAMERS are such wonderful kids.

It's so sad the way the Democrats (and RINO Graham & McCain) keep marching out a handful of young DREAMERS attempting to give the impression that they represent all DACA enrollees.

No trade offs.

Either we have laws or we don't.

The wall is not a priority for me, but I'm not against it - just don't think it will do the job.

Our house is a magnet for stray cats. Over the 20 years, we have had to find homes for a dozen bunches of kittens and some adults. We spend a lot of money having strays 'fixed' and vaccinated for rabies.

We moan and groan and complain, but the very simple answer to our problem is to stop feeding the strays, or stop leaving excess food out for our own outside cat.

That is the same simple answer to our illegal problem.

We need the WALL for now and our future.

Mexico is corrupt and not our friend...in bed with the cartels and Taliban, there are thousands and thousands of criminals. I do not want them bum rushing our borders by the thousands and if that happens...I hope the fighter jets are deployed and used.

The wall will help keep out the pregnant ones...end the damn anchor baby scam now! Give them a Certificate of Child Born Abroad and deport them.

It will keep out the minors who cannot breach the wall and help keep out the drugs.

We have no idea what Mexico will be like in 1 year, 5 years or 20 years from now. Get that WALL built and make it a double

A fence might help, but it won't be THE solution.

Mexico is not now nor has it ever been our friend, I understand that, but as some landed on the beach in CA, I think they will find a way around, under or blow it up.

As for Mexico economy, I think it's possibly better than ours, or getting that way. How could it not be, they have sent their criminals, and millions of their poor at first, then more affluent here, to take our jobs. These people worked and sent back to Mexico an amount equal to or more than their income from their oil industry, for many, many years. Those remitttances have been the first or second leading income for Mexico. How could Mexico not be doing better than our economy?

Again, stop the enticements - stop the remittances -in other words, stop leaving food out for them. There are lots of things that will help.

I'm not sure the Taliban is our enemy. Yes, they are fighting our troops, and to that extent they are. We are, however, in their country. What would we do under those circumstances?

The government who is telling us the Taliban is our enemy is the same one that told us they were going into Afghanistan to get Bin Laden. Well, Bin Laden is dead - long before Obama dumped somebody int he ocean, and Al Queda has moved on, so why are we still there?

This is the same ones who has allowed this country to be flooded with people from all over the world with little or no investigation of them. They are the same ones who are calling us racist and many other vile things.

Why would we believe anything we hear out of Washington? Especially, when blaming the Taliban is a good smokescreen for staying there and if the opium trade can be blamed on the Taliban - even better.

When Trump ends DACA, that will send the biggest message of all to the world, that illegal immigration will NOT be tolerated in the United States. There are no exceptions, no mercy, no excuses. No sob story, no pity party will change your position, status or outcome. You will be arrested, detained and rapidly deported. No sanctuary, no catch and release, nothing except deportation, whatever it takes, so take your DREAMS and HOPES and CRIMES and ISSUES back to your own countries where they belong, or better yet, don't sneak into the United States or overstay a visa to begin with.
