Report: Obama says immigration next on Dems' agenda

President Barack Obama told a Republican senator Tuesday that immigration is next on his agenda, according to a report.

Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) told the Wall Street Journal that the president told him that Democrats plan to move ahead with immigration reform legislation next month when the two spoke this afternoon.

The Journal reported that Obama told Brown that immigration was next, and was lobbying the blue-state senator to take a look at the bipartisan legislation that Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) had crafted.

“He called me originally about illegal immigration, something that he wanted me to look at that was coming down the pike,â€

Apparently pelosi and mrs. messiah didn't get the memo.......

pelosi is running around declaring that energy is next and the mrs. is trying to turn down the heat on hubby by explaining that this is going to be a long drawn out process and is not going to be accomplished quickly because he does not have bipartisan support.

This could just be a ploy on obama's part.....he can give it a try and then when it doesn't fly he will be defended as having tried but the republicans were playing partisan politics so it's not his fault.

These people know that the American people are NOT going to stand for any amnesty at this point.........

If Obama and his corrupt little minions try to shove amnesty down our throats like they did the healthcare bill, one can easily see where the concerns of a "less than peaceful" backlash might come to pass. When a wounded animal is backed into a corner it becomes exceedingly more dangerous. Let us hope that they heed the warning signs.

    Dear Sen. Brown,

With Democrat leaders once again striving to bring a so-called immigration bill up before Congress I think it is important to remember certain things that affect this all-important issue.

    1. The Administration has FAILED in its promise to first secure our borders. Statements by the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year revealed that the electronic surveillance measure were several years away from operability. Other areas of immigration enforcement have been fiscally reduced.

    2. Lax immigration policies have proved so disastrous that the public in states like Arizona and California have approved of local measures to curb illegal immigration. Voters are only trying to bring their state policies in line with federal law---and a reversal of our federal law would completely upset the will of the people in these states.

    3. Drug traffickers, human smugglers, document forgers and even drug cartel criminals continue to make their way over the US border. An amnesty of illegal aliens, which is only playing upon the compassionate nature of Americans, will certainly sent out a WELCOME signal to other law-less types to come here.

    4. A previous amnesty in 1986 was supposed to be the end-all of illegal immigration. It had just the opposite effect.

    5. Amnestied aliens would, after a time, be legally allowed to sponsor their relatives to move here. Our entitlements system is already overburdened with far too many people who have not contributed to the US economy through employment, yet are being supported with US taxpayers. The US is projected to have 16 million foreign born SSI recipients by 2050 dollars---usually disabled or elderly and most never even having worked in this country.

Senator, we know these people are not stupid and that they will seek out loopholes to benefit themselves. A fair number of them have already committed fraud to obtain certain financial benefits. Any amnesty legislation would certainly be open to more fraud---and it would be nearly impossible to distinguish new arrivals seeking to qualify from those intended to be covered.

Despite what pressures you may encounter please do not surrender to this very ill conceived move to amnesty illegal aliens.

    Yours truly,

    XXXXXXXX

I think that they will use reconciliation as this seems to be the new tool that they are finding effective.

I noticed that the Dems intend to use reconciliation on the finance bill.

Scott Brown met with Obama on Air Force One. And you know the rest. Anyone who boards Obama's plane gets some kind of prize if they do what they are told.

Scott Brown met with Obama on Air Force One.

According to the reports BB, Brown was called on the phone by obama who was on AF1 enroute to some engagement.

Brown was noncommital saying only that he would review any such proposed legislation if and when it comes before the senate.
