Immigration rallies held at US Embassy in Mexico
Immigration rallies held at US Embassy in Mexico
May 29, 2010 12:37 pm |
More than 300 opponents of Arizona's new immigration law are protesting at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, chanting "Obama, keep your promise" and demanding legalization for undocumented Mexican workers in the United States.
Mexico's president has blasted the law aimed at deporting illegal immigrants as "discriminatory," but citizens in Mexico have held few public protests. There were larger demonstrations Saturday in Arizona and California, as well.
Critics of the law say it could lead to racial profiling. Supporters say Arizona is trying to enforce immigration laws.

Sounds like these folks want amnesty even before they sneak across the border. Or possibly they're worried about the loss of remittances from their illegal relatives.
