Lou Dobbs Tonight
Wednesday, December 5, 2007
Lou’s new book INDEPENDENTS DAY is now on sale in bookstores
and on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. In Independents Day,
Lou issues a rallying cry to American citizens eager for a
change, focusing particularly on the critical issues and
challenges of the 2008 election.
Tonight: Major developments in the presidential race, with less
than a month to go until the Iowa caucuses. Sen. Hillary
Clinton unveils her plan to ease the subprime mortgage and
foreclosure crisis in this country—beating the Bush
administration to the punch. But Clinton’s competitors
continue to gain ground on the former front-runner.
On the Republican side, Mitt Romney has fired his landscaping
company following reports that it was hiring illegal aliens.
Illegal immigration has become one of the key issues in the
Republican race, with Romney and Rudolph Giuliani trading the
sharpest barbs. We’ll have all the latest.
Four days ahead of the GOP Univision debate, the New Democrat
Network holds a forum looking at the current debate over
illegal immigration in the United States. We’ll have that
story.
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson spoke today on U.S.-China
economic relations ahead of his meeting with China later this
month. We’ll have the latest details tonight on the Bush
administration’s ever-yielding trade policy with Communist
China.
After millions of toy recalls this year, the lead content in
children’s toys and products remains dangerously high. A new
study tested 1,200 toys and found 35 percent of them to contain
hazardous lead levels. Some toys on the list had five times the
established safety level—and many experts say that level is
far too high to begin with. Tune in for that report.
And we’ll have a special segment on the dangerous food
imports plaguing this country. Two senators today introduced
the first major bipartisan legislation to address the issue.
Sen. Bob Casey, D-PA, and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA, will join
us to discuss their bill—the EAT SAFE Act—and how it can
help you protect your family.
A Mexican police chief was murdered in a border town city in an
apparent revenge attack for his role in uncovering a drug
smuggling tunnel between the U.S. and Mexico. We’ll have a
special report on the dangerous drug situation that continues
to brew in Mexico.

Sen. Bob Casey, D-PA
He was Arlen Specter's shadow for years and years. He voted FOR the Nightmare Act, while Specter voted against, in Casey's first actual vote of his own (in my opinion) where he didn't vote Specter's way.
Casey is going to be out of a job very soon, and anything he "introduces" is likely to be smoke and mirrors.Proud wife of an undocumented ICE agent.
