Law enforcement officials in East Texas are reporting the alleged murderer of 10-year-old Kayla Gomez-Orozco is a previously deported illegal alien from Mexico.

Officials with the Smith County jail confirmed to Breitbart Texas that Gustavo Gonzalez, 24, is currently being held in the jail on an immigration detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. Gonzalez was also confirmed to be a Mexican national by the jail official.

East Texas Matters reporter Michael Wesp reported an unnamed law enforcement official claimed that Gonzalez was previously deported in 2014 for a “violent crime.” Court records show that Gonzalez was arrested twice in 2014 on charges for assault causing bodily injury.

The previously deported criminal alien is also reported to be a family member of Kayla Gomez-Orozco, the young girl whose body was found on Saturday. The body of the young girl was found in a well at a home in Smith County Texas, according to Sheriff Larry Smith. Gonzalez was initially reported to be Kayla’s uncle, but family members later clarified that he is a “cousin who acted like an uncle to Kayla.”

Kayla disappeared on Tuesday following a church service at the Bullard First Assembly Church. Her body was found wearing the same clothes on Saturday night in a well near a family member’s house.

The church were Kayla disappeared is located in Cherokee County. Officials with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office referred questions from Breitbart Texas to the FBI in Dallas. A spokesperson for the FBI was not immediately available Sunday afternoon to respond.

No motive for the homicide has been released by law enforcement officials.

Smith County jail records show that the arrest of Gonzalez was made by Texas Rangers assigned to assist Cherokee County in the investigation. Breitbart Texas reached out to the Texas Department of Public Safety for additional information. No spokesperson was immediately available for comment.

A vigil for the young East Texas girl is scheduled for Sunday evening at Jack Elementary School.

Gonzalez has been living in Bullard, Texas. He is currently being held on the immigration detainer as the Cherokee County and Smith County District Attorneys determine what additional charges will be filed.

What is the immigration status of her parents? Are they here illegally too?

And anyone who says the "sanctuary cities" across our Country help them "come out of the shadows" and report crime is complete BS...the family should have notified ICE and had this person removed from the Country. They did not.

Documents Reveal Details in Murder of Texas 10-Year-Old

    Published 11/17 2016 02:52PMUpdated 11/17 2016 02:52PM

TYLER, Texas (KETK) - Search warrants issued by a Smith County District Court has shed more light on the investigation into the death of Kayla Gomez-Orosco.

In a November 5 search warrant, a Smith Count Sheriff's Office inventory sheet reveals swabs collected from bloodstain in the front passenger side of a red and tan F-350 dually at a location in the 10400 block of CR 152 W. Swabs from DNA were collected in the same area of the vehicle.

DNA was also collected from another F-350 at a location in the 22000 block of FM 2493. A total of four vehicles were searched.

The inventory sheet additionally lists a necklace with a two heart pendant found in a burn pile at the scene in the 22000 block of FM 2493, where the the suspect, Gustavo Zavala-Garcia, lives. Detectives also found duct tape, shoestring, a white cloth with flowers, men's underwear and socks, and several sleeveless shirts at the search site.

According to the log, DNA swabs were collected from the concrete well lid, where Kayla's body was found, days after she disappeared from a Bullard church.

Zavala is charged with capital murder and is being held on an ICE detainer. His bond is set at $10 million.

What's going on in our country has to stop. It's not fair to Americans to have to deal with this in our own country. We have enough bad people who are citizens, we do not have the emotions or resources to deal with these people from other countries. We just don't.

    GET THEM ALL OUT NOW!

President Trump needs to place the BLAME directly on the President's of Mexico and Central America. We are not taking your people anymore.

Give them NOTHING but a "Comprehensive Plan for Reform" that includes population control, that they agree to and send a Team of Professionals to implement it. No more extortion money, no more aid, nothing!

BUILD THE WALL AND TURN THEM RIGHT BACK AROUND LIKE A BOOMERANG!

Suspect indicted in Gomez murder case

    Posted Tuesday, January 31, 2017 10:00 pm
    By Micah McCartney

The suspect in the death of a 10-year-old Tyler girl last November was indicted on one count of capital murder by a Smith County Grand Jury last week.

Gustavo Zavala-Garcia was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail Sunday, Nov. 6, after the body of Kayla Gomez-Orozco was found inside of a water well on his property, located in the 23000 block of Old Jacksonville Highway, north of Bullard.

Gomez-Orozco was reported missing from Bullard First Assembly of God church on Highway 69 S. Tuesday, Nov. 1, after a prayer service that she and her mother attended. According to reports, Gomez-Orozco was inside the lobby area of the church with other members of the church after the service ended. After talking to other church members, Gomez-Orozco’s mother was unable to locate her.

The case prompted officials to issue an AMBER Alert for Gomez-Orozco the following day, which also saw law enforcement officials and agencies from the local, state, and federal levels coverage on the city of Bullard to assist in the investigation surrounding Gomez-Orozco’s disappearance.

Law enforcement agencies that assisted in the search for Gomez-Orozco included the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, Bullard Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, Smith County Sheriff’s Department, Tyler Police Department, Texas Rangers, and the United States Marshals Service.

Additionally, the FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team, as well as the FBI East Texas Violent Crime Task Force and the Dallas FBI Safe Streets Task Force, was called in to assist in the search for Gomez-Orozco. Officials used search dogs to search the perimeter set up around the church since Gomez-Orozco was reported missing, while the FBI sent support from its field office in Dallas.

After searching for three days, officials implored members of the community to help them search for any sign of Gomez-Orozco. Over 1,000 members of the East Texas community lined up as early as 5:30 a.m. in the Bullard High School parking lot to volunteer their time and efforts to search for the missing girl.

However, the search efforts by officials and the community were met with disappointing results, as Gomez-Orozco’s body was found late Saturday, Nov. 5, described by Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith during the investigation as a 25-to-28 feet deep with approximately six to eight feet of water inside.

According to Zavala-Garcia’s arrest warrant, officials believe he placed Gomez-Orozco inside of the well within a timeframe of 17 minutes after taking her from the church.

In the indictment from the grand jury of the 241st District Court in Tyler against Zavala-Garcia, jurors believe that he “did then and there intentionally cause the death of an individual, namely, Kayla Gomez-Orozco, by homicidal violence through a specific means unknown to the grand jury, and [Zavala-Garcia] was then and there in the course of committing or attempting to commit the offense of kidnapping.”

The indictment also indicates jurors believe it is possible Zavala-Garcia may have sexually assaulted Gomez-Orozco, as well as physically assaulted her by striking her with a blunt object, as well as asphyxiation and drowning.

After his arrest, Zavala-Garcia was given a consensual polygraph examination by officials, in which he answered “yes” to questions regarding causing the death of Gomez-Orozco. However, Zavala-Garcia later recanted his answer.

An official cause of death for Gomez-Orozco has not been announced. Zavala-Garcia’s trial date, along with a motive in the murder, has not yet been released.

Zavala-Garcia is currently held inside the Smith County Jail on an Immigration Detainer and later charged with one count of Capital Murder with bond set at $10,000,000, according to Smith County Jail records.

Jail records also indicate that Zavala-Garcia was arrested twice in 2014 for Assault Causing Bodily Injury. He was also held on an Immigration Detainer after his second arrest in 2014.

Such an awful crime. Kidnapped from a church, killed and thrown in a well. He had prior arrests of course, but let loose. Disgusting.

    This is really tragic.

How many of these stories are illegal alien on illegal alien crime and murders.

They never mention the immigration status of the victims.

And yes, it does matter, none of them should be here.

Where these illegal aliens live and congregate, no matter if they have not committed crimes, they are still here illegally and they are magnets to other illegal aliens who do commit crimes!

    They infest entire communities.

ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL
