READING -- An eastern Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of another man.

Twenty-year-old Jean Verly, of Wyomissing, pleaded guilty Friday in Berks County Court to third-degree murder and conspiracy in the Sept. 21 death of 19-year-old Victor Mota Jr., of Reading.

Witnesses said they heard the two arguing over a cell phone and money.

A neighbor said she saw the two wrestling on the porch of a Reading home, after which Mota fell to the ground.

Authorities said he had been stabbed to death. Verly was later arrested at a home in Spring Valley, N.Y.

A sentencing date has not been set. District Attorney John Adams said Verly, an illegal immigrant from Haiti, will probably be deported.
