Board Accepts Public Donations For Sheriff’s Anti-Immigration Efforts
Phoenix, AZ - Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Human Smuggling Unit arrested twenty more illegal aliens in the North Valley overnight under the Arizona felony human smuggling law, which now has reached 1035 arrests.

Sheriff’s detectives arrested the illegals in unrelated investigations in the area of Interstate 17 and Table Mesa Road. Inside a van, deputies found one smuggler, Alfredo Sanchez-Campos (DOB 11- 08-1974) and seven co-conspirators en route to Alabama, Illinois, New York and Ohio.
In a sport utility vehicle, Sheriff’s deputies found two smugglers, Jose Luna-Amarripa (DOB 07/11/86) and Cuauhtemol Filio-Valencia (DOB 06/24/85), and ten co-conspirators en route to California, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio.

In early May, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano and the Arizona Department of Public Safety redirected over one million dollars given by the State Legislature to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to enforce the state’s felony human smuggling law. Despite losing the grant, Arpaio has ensured that the law continues to be enforced. Since the money was taken, 79 more illegals have
been arrested under that law.

Earlier today, the County Board of Supervisors, with the exception of Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox, accepted thousands of dollars in citizen donations for the Sheriff’s Office illegal immigration enforcement efforts.

Sheriff Arpaio has vowed to continue enforcing all laws, including illegal immigration laws. “I want everyone to know that my deputies will enforce all state and federal illegal immigration laws everywhere in Maricopa County,â€
