Huckabee wins West Virgina Primary, with McCain's help
McCain supporters back Huckabee in W.VA. to keep Romney from getting delegates
    By Bob Turner
    AXcessWashington Correspondent

(AXcess News) Washington - GOP candidate Mike Huckabee won the West Virginia primary Tuesday after some of Senator John McCain's backers threw their support behind him in a move meant to take away from former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney's chances there, which apparently worked.

Sen. McCain currently leads Republican primary candidates with 102 delegates to Romney's 92 and Huckabee's 62.

Huckabee won the West Virginia Republican primary by a 52% margin to Romney's 48%.

In all, 21 states are voting Tuesday for the Republican primary race. For a candidate to have won the 18 delegates in West Virginia they would need to have won 50% of the votes. McCain's last-minute support took away from Romney's close race, holding the gap in the Arizona war veteran's favor as eyes are now on the state of California.

Bitter about the swing of McCain's supporters behind Huckabee, Romney's national campaign manager, Beth Myers, said in a statement released following the final tally in West Virginia, "Unfortunately, this is what Senator McCain's inside Washington ways look like." Meyers called Mccain's last-minute support of Huckabee in West Virginia a "backroom deal".

West Coast voters and those in the Central time zone, make sure you VOTE. Don't let results from liberal N/E states dissaude you.

If you do, you'll be playing right into the hands of McAmnesty.

If Romney wins California then he goes on. If there is another debate between McCain and Romney McCain should be asked about the deal in WV.
Average Joe doesn't like shady deals and this one is very shady.

I am really not surprised, Mccain and Huckabee are both shady characters. They just proved to the country that they cannot be trusted!

Why in the heck would one candidate urge his/her voters to vote for someone else other than to scam the voters?

Already voted by mail, but today I went and checked out a polling place. It was pretty busy, things seemed to be going OK. They were asking for ID when checking in.

I voted and asked about ID. In CA, just something with your address on it is all you need. No picture or valid ID. I switched to rep just to vote for Romney. It would have been Paul, but after WV I figured Mitt needed it more.
