Back home a week after visiting the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona and Texas, Rep. Brad Ellsworth, D-Ind., will make appearances in Evansville this week.

Ellsworth, who is nearly a year into his two-year term, will meet constituents from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today at the Buehler's Buy-Low at 930 N. Cypress St. in Boonville, Ind. He will visit the Simpson's Food Fair Super Market at 1365 Covert Ave. in Evansville from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

At noon Tuesday, Ellsworth will speak to the weekly luncheon of the Rotary Club of Evansville at The Coliseum.

From Nov. 18 until Tuesday, Ellsworth was part of a congressional delegation that toured U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona and Texas.

The group of eight House members inspected infrastructure, detention facilities and the latest technologies along the border and observed Border Patrol night operations. The House members talked to Border Patrol agents about their challenges and needs.

"By far, illegal immigration is the issue I hear most about from the people of the 8th district," Ellsworth said in a written statement released before the trip.

"The American people want us to work together to find a solution. Our first step has got to be stopping the flow of illegal immigrants with stronger border security."

Heh, heh. That's in my home town.
The Simpson's Food Fair where he is going to make an appearance is the grocery store I am refering to when I complain about how they all use foodstamps and WIC vouchers. The place is also where they go to wire money to Meh-he-co.
