Dear Honorable Zach Wamp and Friends,

I attended your Bar B Q on Labor Day and you read this quote:"

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin.. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

With the dangerous truck accident in Mexico (a few days ago) with dynamite do you not think after Mexican President Felipe Calderon made his radical statement last week that anywhere a Mexican is that is Mexican territory! Remember the radical Chicano groups (Atzlan, MEChA, LULAC, MALDEF) to "reconquista" the southwest (which they are well on their way to control - remember 10% of all counties in U.S. are now minority) without a shot and "everything for the race (bronze) anything outside the race nothing." All one of these trucks with dynamite has to do is target one of our dams, nuclear plants in Tennessee especially or major rivers and America is crippled overnight! This is not only foreign but domestic terrorism with the help of the 25 million illegal aliens in the United States today.

Please help Bradley County like Marsha Blackburn helped Davidson County to get money for 287g or any other program to stop this invasion of America.

The trial which I attended in Benton (9-11-07) let us all know that the deadliest gang in America the MS 13 is with us and thriving. Remember when they thought Angel Flores was dead they were taking the body on I 75 to Dalton Georgia to dispose of the body until Mr. Flores starting kicking in the trunk of his own car. MS 13 member Edwin Almenderez finished the job at Jack River Park in Polk County.

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico (AP) - A dynamite-laden truck exploded after colliding with another vehicle on a busy highway in northern Mexico's coal country, killing at least 34 people, including three reporters at the scene, state and federal officials said.
Authorities said the two vehicles crashed into each other Sunday evening, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers as well as a small army of police, soldiers, emergency officials and journalists.

Shortly after the crowd arrived, the wreckage caught fire, and the dynamite exploded, sending a ball of fire into the sky that consumed nearby cars and left a 10-by-40 foot crater in the concrete, said Maximo Alberto Neri Lopez, a federal police official.

He said more than 150 people were injured.

The force of the explosion blew out the windows of a passenger bus a quarter-mile away.

The dead included three newspaper reporters from the nearby city of Monclova, said Luis Horacio de Hoyos of the Coahuila state Attorney General's Office.

It was unclear if the explosive truck's driver was among the dead. Early reports said he might have fled.

Coahuila state has a large mining industry, most of it in coal.

The explosion raised further questions about the safety of Mexican trucks.

This weekend, Mexico began sending its first tractor-trailers across U.S. territory under a long-delayed, NAFTA-mandated program. Before, Mexican trucks were limited to 25-mile zone along the border.

Many in the U.S. fought the change, arguing that Mexican trucks are unsafe.

Randy Grider, editor of Truckers News magazine, however, said Mexican trucks with hazardous materials aren't included in the new program.

"I think it would be a very long time before the border would open to hazardous loads," he said.

The truck that exploded in Coahuila did not appear to be headed for the U.S. It had recently left an Orica explosives plant and was headed west to Coquimatlan, Colima, a federal police officer who was not authorized to give his name told The Associated Press by phone.

A woman who answered the phone at Orica's offices in Monclova said all company officials were at a meeting, and she could not comment. The company is based in Australia and has operations in 50 countries across six continents.

Associated Press writer E. Eduardo Castillo contributed to this report.

On Sunday, September 9, Mexican President Felipe Calderon attacked efforts by the United States to exercise control the border, asserting that "Mexico does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico." While this bizarre claim was ignored by members of the Bush Administration, various others in Washington attempted to decipher its meaning. Speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday, Representative Ted Poe (R-TX) read Calderon's "saber-rattling words" as "a renewed call by Mexico to colonize the United States." Meanwhile, Representative Tom Tancredo (R-CO) issued a statement goading the Mexican president: "Perhaps Calderon should take a refresher course on geography, because Mexico does in fact end at the Rio Grande. . . ."

President Calderon also attacked what he termed "unilateral" measures by the United States government to enforce its immigration laws and vowed to redouble efforts on behalf of Mexican immigrants. "I'm sure the people of Mexico would be extremely grateful if Calderon showed as much concern over the well being of Mexicans unlucky enough to still live there as he does for the people who have successfully fled his country," responded Representative Tancredo.

Please stop this bill: "Last Thursday the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law held a hearing on the Flake-Gutierrez amnesty bill (H.R. 1645, otherwise known as the STRIVE Act). Chairwoman Zoë Lofgren (D-CA) began the hearing by stating she was personally disappointed when the Senate failed to enact "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation over the summer and vowed to continue working on this issue. Ranking Member Steve King (R-IA) decried the Flake-Gutierrez as amnesty and urged the witnesses to simply acknowledge that fact so that the debate could proceed openly.

The hearing had two panels of witnesses. The first panel consisted of Congressmen Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Joe Baca (D-CA), Ray LaHood (R-IL), and Brian Bilbray (R-CA). The Second panel consisted of policy experts (including FAIR's Government Relations Director) and individuals involved in the immigration reform debate. Interestingly, Congressman Flake immediately acknowledged the unlikelihood that the bill would move this year or even before the next election. He then disputed Congressman King's claim that the bill was an amnesty and said the bill was not comparable to the 1986 amnesty because of the fines and other requirements. He argued that the definition of amnesty was an "unconditional pardon" and that this legislation represented nothing of the sort. Congressman Bilbray retorted that rewarding illegal activity was nothing if not amnesty and a sure-fire way to encourage more of it was to pass mass amnesty legislation such as the Flake-Gutierrez bill.

From the second panel, much attention was given to two witnesses, Mr. Tony Wasilewski and Mr. Eduardo Gonzales, both legal immigrants whose wives had been deported. Chairwoman Lofgren and Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) — who is both a Member of the Subcommittee and an author of the legislation — attempted to portray these individuals as examples of how the current system is unfair to aliens who violate the law. Julie Kirchner, Director of Government Relations at FAIR, argued that a legitimate immigration system is not one that rewards illegal aliens, but instead encourages those who come to the U.S. legally and wait patiently for years in their home countries in order to have their chance to live the American dream.

Insist that Homeland Security protect Americans not spy on them for keeping the United States a soverign country. Stop NAFTA! On Friday, August 31, the Government Accountability Office issued a report chastising the Department of Homeland Security for failures in implementing the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program. The US-VISIT program was conceived as part of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRAIRA) as a way to track the entry and exit of foreign nationals traveling through the U.S. However, since the program's initiation, DHS has repeatedly missed and reset deadlines on its implementation and many features remain unrealized.

Dear Mrs. Stanich:

The Department of Transportation has announced plans for a year long pilot program to begin implementing the NAFTA "Superhighway." This program will allow Mexican trucking companies to make international deliveries to the United States beyond the 20-25 mile commercial zones currently in place along the Southwest border.

This is a bad idea that I continue to fight. I am co-sponsoring H.CON. RES. 40 which will prevent the construction of a NAFTA Superhighway System or a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. I also supported the Safe Roads Act of 2007, H.R. 1773, which would limit the length and scope of the pilot program and block its implementation until U.S. truckers have similar access in Mexico. This bill passed the House with my full support by a vote of 411-3.

We have to protect our borders and not allow more undocumented people into our country. Thanks for speaking out on this issue. I will continue to monitor this situation as it develops.

You also mentioned illegal immigration. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is working hard to enforce our nation's immigrations laws. In the past year, ICE removed more than 186,600 illegal aliens and set records for enforcement as the fact sheet I've included outlines. These are significant steps for ICE as they work towards enforcing our immigration laws and keeping Americans safe from criminals who are here illegally. While there is progress being made, we must mandate that illegals who break the law are deported.

Our southern borders must be secure, though, before Congress can move forward with other immigration reform. Last year, the Secure Fence Act passed with my strong support and was signed into law by the President. This legislation directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to construct roughly 850 miles of border fencing. I was also an original co-sponsor of the Real ID Act of 2005 which included expediting the construction of the San Diego border fence.

Keep up this fight and know we are of "like mind."

Warmest Regards,

Zach Wamp
Member of Congress
