Email From Vote No War regarding Columbia University
This upsets me and it will upset you.
Are we being told to stand down and allow invaders to take over?
Columbia anti-Minutemen protester squares off with
Minutemen founder, Jim Gilchrist, tomorrow on Democracy Now
Call Columbia President, Lee Bollinger, and send letters and faxes to express your support.
(To send a fax, you don't need a fax machine -- do it online with the press of a button!)
Dear Cindy,
Karina Garcia, Political Chair of Chicano Caucu, speaking yesterday, Oct. 9, at a press conference.

Karina Garcia, Political Chair of Chicano Caucus, will be on the popular Pacifica radio show, Democracy Now, tomorrow morning, October 11. Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project, will be the other guest on the segment.
The Chicano Caucus, along with other progressive and student organizations sponsored the large protest outside the auditorium where Gilchrist spoke on October 4. She, along with a large number of students and alumni also participated in the protest inside the auditorium. When students attempted to unfurl a banner on stage while Gilchrist was speaking, Minutemen thugs viciously attacked them. Since that time, the Republican Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, FoxNews, and the Minutemen themselves, have engaged in a campaign of demonization and villification against the anti-racist protesters. They have been demanding that Columbia University carry out reprisals against the students. Tell your friends to listen to Democracy Now tomorrow, to hear the students' side of this important struggle.
Over 3,000 letters have been sent to Columbia President, Lee Bollinger, showing support for the students and demanding no reprisals. Since FoxNews, the New York Post, and other right-wing media outlets are continuing the campaign against the students, it is urgent that people of conscience from around the country let Columbia University know that you agree with those who protested. The Minuteman Project is a dangerous armed vigilante organization that terrorizes undocumented immigrants and other Latinos in the U.S.-Mexico border states. They are a neo-fascist movement that has gained a certain "legitimacy" because of the favorable coverage they've received in the corporate-dominated media. Take a moment to send a letter to President Bollinger, or to call or send a fax to his office to show your support and demand no reprisals. (To send a fax, you don't need a fax machine -- you can do it online with the press of a button!)
Click here to send a message to Bollinger. After filling out your name, you can now select to send the message via email, fax -- or both! Show your support.
To call Bollinger's office, the number is 212.854.9970.

I just responded to the email by asking Bollinger to expel the students and conduct a complete investigation. The pro-invaders started the whole thing and they must pay the consequences.

Well
If right wing means I don't condone chaos and lawlessness than I guess that would make me a right winger! As far as a conscience, mine would not allow me to participate in such animal behavior.
I will be calling Mr. Bollinger tomorrow. How these idiots can claim that they were peaceful when they are ON TAPE acting like jerks is just beyond the realm of belief!Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God

I guess they the terror part would be the Border Patrol chasing them and if not for the MM, they wouldn't do that, I'm sure. BTW, wouldn't the BP fit into their description??

LOL!!!
Check out the listed "steering committee" of this group:
Steering Committee:
IFCO/Pastors for Peace

Partnership for Civil Justice - LDEF
Nicaragua Network
Alliance for Just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines
Korea Truth Commission
Muslim Student Association - National
Kensington Welfare Rights Union

They need to be committed, not a committee. Looks like just about every Communist front anti-American group I can think of.
