Tulsa County sheriff's deputies arrested five people after a "sophisticated plot" in which a man escaped from the Tulsa Jail after switching identities with another inmate.

Authorities on Sunday night apprehended Adaan Ayala Ibarra, 26, who escaped from the jail about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. He bonded out after switching identities with another inmate who is still in custody, officials said.

Ibarra was arrested Sept. 7 for alleged possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

"The investigation has revealed that this was a well-orchestrated conspiracy, both in and outside of the jail, which resulted in an elaborate escape plot," stated a news release from the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested five people whom they believe helped in the escape. The five were arrested on complaints ranging from conspiracy to aiding and abetting in an escape. Their names were being withheld on Sunday night. More arrests were expected, authorities said.

Ibarra, a Mexican national, was arrested at a relative's residence without incident about 8 p.m. Sunday, officials said.
