Controversy over immigration bill boosting Valley economy?
PHOENIX -- With thousands of protestors in the Valley to argue for and against the new immigration law, some of them from out of state, area businesses around the Arizona State Capitol said they are seeing an uptick in business.
Diane Hamel of La Canasta Capitolio said business is up 15 percent over the past two weeks, a significant jump especially in this tough economy.
She said part of that is due to lawmakers being in session longer than usual, especially when it comes to the lunch rush.
