Thursday, November 08, 2007
TRENTON -- The Wilbur Civic Association is hosting a discussion on immigration and immigration law Saturday at the State House Annex.
Dion Clark, president of the association, said he hopes the dialogue will foster better understanding of immigration.
"Instead of arguing, let's talk about what we can do to bring a positive resolution," said Clark.
The discussion runs from 1 to 6 p.m. in the State House Annex, Room 1.
Immigration, particularly illegal immigration, has been a point of contention in the city recently, after immigration advocates condemned a new law that strengthened penalties for people who re side in New Jersey but have their cars registered out of state.
Advocates contend the law targets illegal immigrants.
