Exclusive — Sen. Roger Marshall to Push Senate to Declare Biden’s Open Border an ‘Invasion’

by MATTHEW BOYLE 3 Aug 2022Washington, DC

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) will on Wednesday evening push the U.S. Senate to adopt via unanimous consent a resolution declaring the open U.S. border with Mexico an “invasion,” his office told Breitbart News exclusively.

Marshall will go to the floor of the Senate to deliver remarks and during those remarks will push for the Senate to adopt via unanimous consent an eight-page resolution he drafted that would declare it the sense of the U.S. Senate that the situation along the border has deteriorated so badly under Democrat President Joe Biden that it constitutes an “invasion” of the United States of America. When Marshall does this, Democrats are extremely likely to send forward a Democrat senator to object to the motion—thereby blocking it on behalf of all of their members—but the fact that Marshall is pursuing this drastic course of action shows how significant an issue this is to many Republicans.

Marshall Resolution_Right to Repel Invasion 8.2.22 by Breitbart News on Scribd

“I rise to ask for passage by unanimous consent, my resolution to express the sense of the Senate that the unprecedented crisis at the southern border constitutes an invasion on the United States of America, and that it is the constitutional right of State Governors to repel the dangerous ongoing invasion across the southern border,” Marshall will say, according to prepared remarks his office provided to Breitbart News ahead of their delivery. “I encourage my colleagues to support this resolution because the federal government has failed—intentionally or unintentionally—to uphold its obligations to protect the states from invasion under Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution.”

During the floor speech, Marshall will also lay the blame for the border crisis squarely at Biden’s feet.

“During his campaign to become president, Joe Biden made it clear to the entire world that if he became president, America would be open,” Marshall will say. “Not open for business, but that our southern border would be open – wide open, for anyone and everyone to violate our nation’s immigration laws, and to take advantage of America’s generosity. Yes, it would be wide open for drug smugglers, convicted murderers, domestic abusers, and sex offenders. Open for terrorist suspects. In 2019, Joe Biden called for ‘all those people seeking asylum’ to ‘immediately surge to the border.’ He pledged free health care for illegal immigrants and pledged support for sanctuary cities. One of his first actions as president was sending proposed legislation to Congress that would provide a path to citizenship for 10 to 12 million illegal aliens residing in the United States. On his first day in office, he halted construction of President Trump’s border wall and halted the Remain in Mexico program.”

Because of Biden’s actions, Marshall will argue, record numbers of migrants are streaming across the border.

“This open border – opened by Joe Biden – has resulted in an unprecedented, unrelenting massive wave of illegal aliens entering our country. Last year, border patrol made more than 1.7 million arrests of illegal immigrants along the southern border, which is the highest level ever recorded, and is on pace to arrest more than two million illegal immigrants along such border during this fiscal year,” Marshall will say. “And now that Joe Biden has prepared to end the Title 42 Policy that enabled us to expel many of those crossing the border back into Mexico, the vast majority of those violating our country’s immigration laws will be released into the interior of our nation, where Democrats will insist they remain for the rest of their lives.”

Marshall will also argue that the invasion is “wreaking havoc” on Americans nationwide.

“Last year, the number of drug overdose deaths in the U.S. topped 100,000, fentanyl being the cause of two-thirds of them. In fact, fentanyl is now the number one cause of death of Americans ages 18 to 45,” Marshall will say. “Last year, border patrol seized at the southern border — 11,200 pounds of fentanyl; 5,400 pounds of heroin; 191,000 pounds of methamphetamine; 97,000 pounds of cocaine; and 10,000 pounds of ketamine – Many, many multiples of the amounts needed to kill every man, woman, and child in the United States. If you speak to border patrol agents trying to deal with this crisis, they’ll tell you the Biden Administration has completely forbidden them to enforce immigration law. They have been made ushers and nurse maids for illegal immigration. This invasion is wreaking havoc on communities all across our country, and it cannot go on any longer. It is long past time for states to protect their interests, because Joe Biden has made it clear the federal government will not.”

Marshall will conclude his speech by saying Biden’s border policies amount to a “dereliction of duty” and again urging the Senate to adopt his resolution.

“President Biden’s dereliction of duty and failure to take care that the laws be faithfully executed at our southern border has directly put the citizens of all 50 States in danger and has resulted in loss of life,” Marshall will say. “Let me be crystal clear, the violent activity and smuggling of drugs, humans, guns, and other illicit goods carried out by drug cartels and transnational criminal organizations meet the definitions of ‘actually invaded’ under clause 3 of section 10 of article I of the United States Constitution; and ‘invasion’ under section 4 of article IV of the United States Constitution; and Governors of all 50 States possess the authority and power as Commander-in-Chief of their respective States to repel the invasion described in paragraph (2). I encourage the passage of this resolution, to stand in solidarity with the Governors of these United States, who must take matters into their own hands to protect their citizens against this invasion.”

It is an invasion, this is war with corrupt Mexico, the gangs and drug cartel.

Our Governors need to round them up. Process them, fingerprint them and load them on ships back to Southern Mexico. This has got to stop!

Every one of the UACs in our custody should be handed over to their Embassy or Consulate to process and return to authorities back home.

This is disgusting to traffic these minor's and it is kidnapping for our government to keep them or release them to anybody on our soil but their countries authorities! Their parents should be charged with child abuse, deported, and they can never come back.

If Sen. Marshall thinks this is an invasion, why did he say he supports a form of Amnesty for illegals to gain citizenship or legal status in 2015???

Congressional challenger Roger Marshall supports paths for immigrants, block grants to replace ACA

Obstetrician said he is giving up medical practice Dec. 31

Roger Marshall raised nearly $200,000 last quarter, proving he is a viable candidate for U.S. Congress.

MANHATTAN — On Wednesday afternoon, campaign finance disclosures showed Roger Marshall raised nearly $200,000 last quarter, proving he is a viable candidate for U.S. Congress.

On Wednesday night, Marshall delivered a baby.

The obstetrician from Great Bend said in an interview Thursday that he isn’t quite ready to give up his medical practice, despite campaigning against an incumbent and second challenger across a 63-county congressional district.
“It’s good, it keeps me grounded and I still enjoy it. So I’m definitely going to do it until December 31st,” said Marshall, a Republican. “My campaign consultants are wanting me to quit. I think I might give up obstetrics, but I’m not ready to give up my entire practice yet.”

On Thursday, campaigning brought Marshall to Manhattan. On Friday, it will take him to Hutchinson. At each stop, the political novice talks with school superintendents, business owners or residents in his bid to unseat three-term incumbent Rep. Tim Huelskamp in next August’s primary.

When asked what he thinks of Huelskamp, a tea party Republican widely considered to be among the most conservative members of Congress, Marshall laughed before pausing to collect his thoughts.

“I hear a lot of Kansans feel like they’re not being represented very well, that we have no voice right now representing the Big First on the House side of things. I tend to agree with that. We have no voice in Congress,” Marshall said.

In December 2012, Huelskamp was removed from his seat on the House Agriculture Committee, leaving Kansas without a member on the committee for the first time in a century. The removal followed the outspoken congressman’s disagreements with House leadership, namely Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio.

As for his other opponent, Clyde resident and student retention specialist Alan LaPolice, Marshall said the two have spoken on a few occasions.
“I respect Alan. He’s probably quite a bit more moderate on a lot of views than me. We have a cordial relationship and I respect his willingness to try to run again,” Marshall said.

On the issue of immigration, Marshall’s own views can be considered moderate. In addition to securing the border, which he hopes to accomplish through the use of private contractors, Marshall said he favors a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants currently in the United States.
“There has to be a pathway to at least have a job. I’m not ready to jump on the amnesty bandwagon just yet, but we need to find a way to get these people into the system,” Marshall said. “If you’ve had a job and you had a negative drug screen and you don’t have a felony record, let’s get a way to integrate them into our communities. We need them. We absolutely need these people.”

Marshall said the problem rests in bureaucratic inefficiencies that have made it difficult and unattractive for undocumented immigrants to obtain the proper paperwork. Soon after moving to Great Bend, Marshall said he and his wife met a hard-working woman who was able to become a legal citizen through the hard work of a local pastor.

“She got her papers, her husband got his papers. Her children came, got their papers, I delivered them. I coached the grandson in football and baseball. The granddaughter became the homecoming queen,” Marshall said.
“We make it so hard for good people to become citizens,” he added.

Marshall said education spending is the issue he hears about most as he travels the 1st District, though government regulations and national security are also on the minds of many. While he is opposed to the Iranian nuclear deal, believing the Iranian regime can’t be trusted, Marshall concedes that he doesn’t have all the answers on foreign policy. Instead, he said, he relies on those he considers more informed than himself.

“For foreign policy issues, I don’t talk one-on-one with Senator Roberts but when I’ve listened to Senator Roberts, he’s forgotten more about foreign policy and military issues than I’ll ever know,” Marshall said. “Congressman Pompeo seems to understand more military issues a lot better than the average congressman, as well. So I read their websites a lot and see what they’re saying.”

On the issue of health care, Marshall stopped short of calling for repeal of the Affordable Care Act but said it is causing deductibles to increase.

Marshall believes the federal government should instead give block grants to states and allow the states to decide how to implement health care reforms.
“I think we have to somehow allow the Kansas Legislature to figure out how to take these block grants of money and use them for health care,” Marshall said. “The doctors I talk to and the hospitals criticize me because of that, because they don’t have a lot of faith in (legislators).”

Marshall concedes that the health care reform is complex and complicated. Despite being well versed through his own experiences, he continues to listen and learn on the issue of health care, he said. On immigration, however, the candidate is confident he’s finding solutions.

“I think I’m figuring this one out,” Marshall said.

There should be NO path for these criminal trespassers.

Walk them on the "path" back home where they belong and NO job on our soil. They should be hard working citizens in their country. Stop dumping these people on our backs, this solves nothing where they are coming from! They should get no healthcare here.
