EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Presses FEMA To Not Spend Anymore Taxpayer Dollars On Migrants

Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, whose district was impacted by Hurricane Helene and set to get slammed by Hurricane Milton, is urging the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to assure that funds will no longer go towards illegal immigrants.
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the letter to FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, in which Paulina Luna says that the “mismanagement of taxpayer funds is unacceptable and requires immediate remedial action from FEMA.” She asks for “assurances” that “no further FEMA funds, budgeted by Congress and paid for by taxpayers, will be used to pay for costs imposed by the illegal migrant crisis.”
The Florida Congresswoman is also calling for new FEMA funding that “will immediately improve response and recovery efforts related to Hurricane Helene and pending storms. These funds must only be used on disaster recovery and must not be used on the illegal immigrant crisis.”

(DAILY CALLER OBTAINED) — … by Henry RodgersHere Is What The Congresswoman Asks In The Letter:
- How much FEMA money has been spent since January 2021 to cover the costs imposed by the illegal immigrant crisis to cities, non-profits, NGOs, or any other organization?
- What steps are being taken to recover those funds?
- What assurances can be made that no further FEMA funds, budgeted by Congress and paid for by taxpayers, will be used to pay for costs imposed by the illegal migrant crisis?
FEMA is running low on employees as the incoming category 5 hurricane Milton moves toward the U.S. Hurricane Helene, which made landfall as a category 4 in Florida on Sept. 26 has destroyed many places in the southeast.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned in early October that FEMA didn’t have enough funds to last the hurricane season. FEMA has spent more than $1 billion on the migrant crisis since the Fall of 2022.
